1) that is correct. It is an auto hit that is not a shooting attack. No cover saves apply (remember you can sometimes hit your own vehicles!)
2) Grenades will need 6s to hit in this situation. So will the tank hammers. Modes with grenades make one attack each (no bonus at all for charging or 2 weapons). The tank hammer guys make as many swings as they can normally + charge bonus.
Resolve tank hammer hits, then resolve grenade hits (doesn't have to be this order, just out of conveinence). for each Tank busta bomb hit you you roll
2d6 and add 6. If you equal the armor you glance, if you exceed the armor you pen.
