I need some inspiration but I couldn't find any threads about Grey Knight scouts. Is there anything specific saying that there are no scouts in a pure grey knights army?
I would probably have 1 squad snipers and 1 squad close combat but I need ideas on how to make them look more like grey knights.

I was thinking swapping the heads for ones with covered face pre-heresy style helmets as a start...any suggestions on what helmets, and what ccw's i should use or how else I can make them look like they belong in the Ordo Malleus?

Other than them not being included in the army list, you mean?

And according to their fluff they don't go into battle until they are full Grey Knights.

Grey Knights cannot afford to go into battle unless they are truly Grey Knights.

The duty of the Ordo Malleus is to combat the daemon, an enemy which no mere mortal could fight and remain sane or completely pure. The Grey Knights are made just for that, thus why they cannot risk sending lesser warriors to fight.

I'm not sure how you'd make scouts though, maybe just add some purity seals or somesuch?

Fluff states that like the deathwatch the grey knights are individuals selected from the other chapters for showing great prowess etc, so I assume the scounts don't exist as all new recruits have already done the scout thing and are now full marines.

Somewhere.

Where is that stated? I'm pretty sure the Grey Knights grab those with the right potential (psionic abilites, powerful warriors, etc) from a variety of world spread across the Galaxy, take them to Titan and then start a serious of tests and processes that would kill off anyone who isn't perfect, hence why they haven't lost anyone to Chaos. Lexicanum has this to say.

Considering the role of the Grey Knights, potential recruits are put through even more stringent trials than other Space Marine Neophytes. The recruits are drawn from across the galaxy and brought to Titan for testing. The most advanced bio-engineering and psycho-surgery available is utilised to condition the Neophytes, and each recruit must pass the six hundred and sixty six Rituals of Detestation, to prove that he is capable of withstanding horrors that would break even the greatest of 'normal' Space Marines. Upon success, the recruit also has the majority of their memories and personality erased1, to better ensure their absolute and unwavering loyalty to the Emperor. One of the main criteria for selection is that the recruit must show great psychic potential, as the entire Chapter is made up of psykers. Once accepted into the chapter and undergoing the standard process to transform into a member of the Adeptus Astartes, the new Grey Knight is also implanted with silver purity wards under his skin which cover his entire body.

Im with Jon on this. Grey Knights and Deathwatch are not even close to being the same or even similar.

Afaik, Grey Knights are NOT drawn from other chapters but consist of the most resilient (and psychic) beings that can be found.

K, so I was also just asking out of curiosity as to whether anyone has seen Grey Knight Scouts.

Are there any suggestions about what they should look like now asuming that it is a DIFFERENT chapter that has a similar aesthetic look. (I use grey knight marines painted gold with scab red robes, no terminators, no vehicles so it is a very light force and only grey knight models looks boring)

Also, what chapter name sounds better:
-Templars Exemplar
-High Templars
-Aurum Warriors
-Bringers of the Light

How about High Exemplar Warriors of the Light... collector's edition...

My vote is for Aurum Warriors... sounds original.

I'd go with Aurum Warriors, or a different name, but not the first 2.

Thanks, but I still need ideas for my scouts/neophytes. Here is some of the army:

I went with the name Aurum Warriors. Aurum is latin for gold (the reason Gold is Au on the Periodic Table of Elements)

Scout is latin for fart, so I think that may sway me to stay away from this thread . . .

Seriously, I would have to agree GK have no scouts. I believe that's why they have to take Sista's or IG to field them.

Of course you could play DA and have them as Elites

Yeah, whats up with the DA codex, making Scouts an elite choice....idiots.

At least they cleaned up their act with the Ultramarines, but still.

On topic: Grey Knights do not field Scouts. End of story! If you insist on fielding scouts as part of your Grey Knights force, why not throw in some Female Space Marines, and non homosexual Dark Eldar.....just for the record, they don't exsist either!

Grey Knights are not selected from other chapters, they are created specifically, and aspirants are taken from death worlds, etc......very different force to Death Watch!

Man down, Man down....

K, I understand that there are no Grey Knights Scouts. I already said that. I understand DASS ES VERBOTEN.

So let's say that I have a space marine army that is not the grey knights, IS NOT THE GREY KNIGHTS.

I use the grey knight models because they look cool and I like SM's with good mele. Say I'll use them as assault marines with their jet packs removed (just for playing against friends). I want to make some scouts that look like they fit in with the theme.

I want them to have a standard boltpistol and some kind of cool close combat weapon similar but not quite as cool as the grey knight one, preferably smaller. I am also thinking of switching the heads for some empire knights or those older looking style helmets with added lower jaw armor.

Are there any sudgestions on how to alter these scouts to look like the rest of my army? Sample pics here:

But grey knights don't have any scouts, right? Then why would you need to model GK scouts?

Not sure if it was your intention, but I certainly laughed at this.

@OP: I'd say the ideas you have for heads will work fine. Just give them like 10000 purity seals each also as a finishing touch.

I would think that any level clergy would classify as a scout, if they sense taint, then they would notify the Inquisition. The Inquisition would determine if GK would be needed to fight said taint.
