Subject: Smallest (model count) competitive army?

Hi all,
After a few years in the wilderness of fantasy I find myself eager to get back to the tournament scene in 40k. Time these days is an issue for me though and I like to lavish a lot of love on my models with painting and conversion work. I'd like to play an army that is competitive so that I can have fun in tournaments but has a very low model count so that I can concentrate what little time I have on making them look as good as I can.
The question then is, which competitive builds out there have a very low model count? Up front Id like to say that I'm not too interested in a nob bikers army even though they would fit the bill. The last couple of fantasy tournaments I've been to that had 40k as well seemed to have so many people moaning about nob bikes that I'm not too sure about hopping on that particular wagon. It seems everyone has just about gotten their measure anyways.

In 4th Edition... Nidzilla was king!
But not anymore the 5th edition objective rules make them less effective.

Althou it is still our most powerful build and now with outflanking genestealers and such. Its what I run now but with 3 Zoanthropes and WoN gaunts . But with all the mech armies now its hard to win now t7 4W 2+ or 3+ save doesn't cut it anymore. Automatically Appended Next Post: Danny Internets wrote:Dual command squad marine bikers
Dual Nob Bikers with Dual Warbosses will eat that alive and with less models!

Nob Bikers are a thing of the past given the meta shift, if you plan on ever facing a single Imperial guard army you will be smashed as the psychic battle choir is pretty much the hardest counter on elite low leadership armies in the history of ever.
-Nidzilla aren't quite what they used to be but they are still a very solid build.
-Mech Khorne lists are relatively low on numbers too, basically lots of Bezerkers in land raiders, they do well but may not be great fun to play with.
-Eldar jetseer council could be fun, tough to use well but dead hard, also small army and a lot of work in converting them, could be very rewarding to play them.
These are just the first things that sprang to my mind, probably lots more Mech lists that are low on numbers but still tough out there.

Happy Imperial Citizen

Dark Angels:
Belial (makes terminators troops)
3xTerminator 5 man squads
3xLand Raiders (of your choice)
I think this is the best low models/quality list for the 5th edition
Cheers

Some good calls, I'm just about to look into eldar bikes, not really considered those before.
Should have mentioned that the tournaments here are usually still at 1500 points, does this affect the viability of any of these builds?

along with the eldar since you seem to be leaning that way...
IMO wraithlords are curently the best models in circulation for converting and are decent on the tabletop. I hear wraith guard/wriathlord spam is good but I don't play eldar so better to ask some1 to varify.
