Material for Haemonculus Experiments

I decided to try merging the two best (IMO) competition 'Nid lists together for the upcoming 'Ard Boyz. The only thing Im not sure about is the lack of armor upgrade on the stealers but I'm thinking more in the case is better. Shadow of the Warp was to eat up points and hopefully may hassle double lash a bit.
Comments and suggestions appreciated!

As a Tyranid player myself, I would replace the Flyrant with a Dakkarant and some Guard. My Flyrant usually ends up looking like swiss cheese by the end of the second round. I have found the survivability of the Dakkarant with Guard to more than make up for losing the mobility.

You should add the extra wound to the heavy fexes.
I also think you should drop the Flyrant and replace it with TL devourers and some guard. In fact, I think it would be better to drop the small stealer unit and have 3 guard for each tyrant.
If you feel like you really need the large blast you can switch one or two of your elite fexes to the ST barbed strangler variety.

I agree with much that has been said but I will lay out all the points I see for your consideration:
1) Barbed strangler on Tyrant is pretty much garbage IMO (S5 is fail for the points involved). Venom cannons are ok, especially on a walking tyrant. As mentioned though devourers are where its at. They are better on a tyrant then a carnifex cause the tyrant isn't as gimped in close combat, and devourer units will end up in cc often.
2) Boomfex vs dakkafex. Dakka kills more troops, boomfex has more flexibility as it can sit back and play defensive or play more upfront, can kill troops and tanks fairly well and is not as gimp in cc. The range is what does it for me on paper (and you WILL be forced to put yur MCs in reserve in ard boyz) but I also prefer the look of big ass scytals and a big gun over the weedy devourers on carnifexes.
3) You won't want to outflank or even scuttle every brood in my experience. So best imho to save the points and keep a unit or 2 with feeder tendrils in support of your MC and camping any close by objectives. I do so and have never regreted it but YMMV.
4) Carapace on stealers. Definitely arguable utility but with cc death and ap5 so prevailent I really like the save myself. Flamers will make you cry.
5) Winged tyrant should have implant attack for ard boyz. he'll very likely get a chance to use it.

All of the stealers should have feeder tendrils so that they will reroll hits as well as anything within 2" of them thats just broken.
Also you should invest 64pts in 8 WoN Spinegaunts for objectives.

The elite fexs are very good but I would suggest at least one boomfex (sything talons, barbed strangler) instead of one of the dakkafexes.

These are very good choices but you will have trouble with AV13-14 tanks but there is not much you can do about it.

In such large games I think you can afford to pack on a few extra biomorphs. Extra wounds on the heavy fexes are probably worth it. I would replace one of the dakkafexes for a boomfex so you you don't find yourself outclassed in certain situations.
I would definately lose some stealers (maybe broods of 8) so that they can all get carapace...and yes flesh hooks or feeder tendrils are most definately needed. In a competative environment I would say go for implant attack as well (maybe just a couple of broods since its expensive).
The winged tyrant seems a little out of place. By losing the wings you can get him some guard which increases survivabilty and by giving him devourers you keep his cost down (also makes up for the loss of a dakkafex).
Also as Drummer mentioned above you may want to replace 1 brood of stealers with spinegaunts. Keep the objectives safe.

Lukus83 has it! Those are all suggestions although instead of the extra wound on the carifex I would take extra tyrant guards first. The reason for this is that they can provide cover for the fexs (w/o the 50% coverage argument) and the more you have the more you have the more cover you can spread around  . Plus the extra wound really won't do that much at this point cost but if you have points left after changing the stealers around and the extra guard then go for it!

I have to agree with a lot of the above posts. I won't go into your unit choices to much since it's obviously what you want and I do tend to run mine in a different direction but some things your gonna need: -As previously mentioned w/out number gaunts -I prefer the extra wound on my Carnies, it's kept one alive and kicking to steal an objective on more than one occassion. -Feeder tendrils are a must (i'd say on 2 units) -I'm not a huge fan personally of non-dakka tyrants in a list like this. I'd make both my tyrants dakka's and then make all 2 out of 3 of my elite fexes boomfexes. More use and more range on those darn DOW missions. -I'd steal some points from scuttlers and only make two units scuttle. W/all the guard you might not even want them scuttling this year. Just some thoughts

You should give at least 1 or 2 units of genestealers flesh hooks. You will have to assault into cover in almost every game. You seem to be sold on the BS for the tyrants...but as winterman said that S5 large blast is really expensive. You should run at least 1 tyrant with 2 T-L devourers and see that it is really, really good.

It's to just help. Yes about the Nob Bikers and you just can cause more wounds. It takes down big meanies more (aka if you get a rending VS. a carnifex then thats 2 wounds down, same goes with things like C'Tan, wraithlords...)
