I am playing in a game right now where I have an opponent claiming Daemon Hunters force weapons ignore the rulebook rules for force weapons. Specifically, he's saying Daemon Hunters' force weapons can instakill even models that are immune to instakill.

Before you answer, check page 17 of the Daemon Hunters codex.

Can DH force weapons instakill the un-instakillable?

Going on the basis that the Codex Wargear for Daemonhunters overrides the similarly named Rulebook items, then I would say that it does.

Force Weapons in the BRB invoke the Instant Death special rule as outlined within the same BRB. Grand Master Nemesis Force Weapons and Force Weapons according to the Codex: Daemonhunters cause the opponent to be slain outright, no matter how many wounds it has. This does not refer to a rule in the BRB.

Yes. They do not use the BRB rules, they use their own, much in the same way they use their own Assault Cannon rules.

No, what I mean is, if anyone says "I know GK have their own rules but use the new ones anyway", then they are cheating. If they Go "No use the... Oh sorry, I didn't know they had a special Rule, Carry on!", that is not cheating.

The GK NFW cause a large disturbance in all reality. I play that they can ignore eternal warrior and all that jazz and can just stright up kill the thing outright. However somepeople will put up a fuss about this so make sure that you clear it up before the game start.
