Ork nobs can take a variety of wargear to ensure that they have different wound allocation groups. Orks come with a slugga and choppa by default. You can replace them with a variety of things...

Any nob may replace his choppa with:
-big choppa
-power klaw

Any nob may replace his slugga with:
-twin-linked shoota
-shoota/rokkit kombi-weapon
-shoota/skorcha kombi weapon

As for mixing and matching, I've always done what I've wanted because there doesn't seem to be a rule against it. For example....

A big choppa is a two-handed close combat weapon. A configuration I usually take on a nob is a big choppa + shoota/kombi-skorcha. Seems kind of like having a two handed weapon + a two handed gun. Then again, Ghazghkull carries a big shoota in one hand, so why would having a shoota on a nob in one hand be an issue?

What about a powerklaw and a shoota/skorcha kombi-weapon?

Not sure what to do here, except continue playing as I always have. Anyone have a rules quote to direct me otherwise?

All legal. There are no Limits to the amount of Weapons a Model can carry now, Sorry, no Quote though, because... well, no rule limits what you can carry (in the Rulebook anyway, old codexes have limits still). Calgar for Example has 3 Single Handed weapons and 1 Two Handed Weapon. Elrad has 3 Single handed Weapons, hell, a Veteran Assault Sergeant can Have 4 Lightning Claws or 2 Claws and a Combi-Flamer If he wants (the second one is a Surprisingly effective combo).

Just remember that a Big Choppa is Explicitly Defined as a Two handed Weapon and so wont get the Bonus attack for two weapons even with a Slugga, and you are Good to Go.

Cool. I've never mistake the second part (the bonus second attack) but someone asked me in a game the other day how I managed to have both a kombi-skorcha and a big choppa, and I pointed to the two entries in my codex where different weapons were independently replaced, and he accepted it, but it made me wonder.

Think of it this way: a 2H weapon only requires both hands to wield, not to carry. The model will presumably put away whichever one is not in use, you just model them as holding one in each hand because orkz love to hold all their toys.
