Subject: Moving house soon - how best to pack up WH40K figures?

Hello WH40k'ers,
Next month I will be moving house and in the last 3 years I have collected around 300 - 400 WH40k figures. Does any one have some good ideas how best to pack them up to protect them during the move? Wrapping each one individually in bubble wrap would take into the next century ;-)

If you have several carry cases use the foam out of them or even buy a load of foam and make cut outs to put the figures in.
Hope that helps.

Just leave them in the case(s) you normally transport them in.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the replies - this is my problem - I have never transported them anywhere before. So I was hoping there could be a quick way of moving them just the once into my new house. Cutting out 300 - 400 holes in foam does not sound like fun :-)
Any more tips?

Well it sounds like this idea has been in the back of your head already. SO go and buy some totes and foam. Put a layer of minis down, layer of foam and so on. Thats the fastest easiest way to move a bunch of minis. Other wise think about it, you got a gak ton of minis, your going to HAVE to move them safely. This is one of those things, your just going to have to suck it up and do it properly

Find a source of Egg Shell foam trays and layer them in regular boxes. This is so you dont have to cut out anything.
And if you have the cash to spend...go to Battlefoam and buy their pre-loadouts.

You can wrap them in paper towels individually and lay them in boxes. If they are well painted and plastic. If they are elobarate metal with lots of pin I would suggest that you use a transport.

all the rage.
Wish I could afford it.
But seriously, eggcrate foam and large boxes should work wonders.. maybe put the eggcrate foam in a trunk or heavy plastic tote?

BIG thanks for all your ideas. I'm going with the egg box approach (= very cheap) and large amounts of cotton wool for stuffing...
