Running in a 1200 store tourney tomorrow and this is the list I was thinking of bringing

Lord /w res orb, gaze of flame - 155

Warrior Squad x 12 - 198

Scarab Swarm x 6 - 72

Monolith - 235

Or

Any suggestions or help is always appreciated.

I like the second list. The second Lord is kinda redundant in such a small game.You should horde the Warriors until the last second, and then have them rush to cap objectives. Clever monolith use can allow this to work, without nearby .

With the destroyers, the uniquely-Necron strat of "We bang-bang, fall over, and get back up" can be present, since you add more dice to the picture.

I'm not crazy about Gaze of Flame, but it will prevent the Tau from doing too much, and will keep low leadership armies at bay. Best of luck!

Ok I tested out the first list against the new IG today, and dominated, so I think I'm going to run with the first list.

I used 1 lord and 2 squads with my scarabs running an assault screen. I pushed up with all this, and had my monolith deep strike in the back with the second lord and a squad of 12 coming out of the portal.

The two lords would be redundant if both of them were on the board at the same time, but I have my monolith deep striking and have one of the lords support the squad that's coming out. The gaze of flame negates enemy charge bonuses, and gives -1 ld for taking checks in CC. This way I deep strike, and rapid fire the first turn. On the enemy's turn they are going to try and knock down the squad, the lord supporting the squad makes sure they can get back up, and if they get assaulted, gives them the chance to survive CC by negating the enemy's charge bonus, and pushing out some wounds so that I don't get sweeping advanced, and can usually even up combat. This way it leaves my lord and a few warriors alive so I can teleport though the monoliths portal, rerolling all WBB's, breaking out of CC, and rapid firing on whatever squad was causing me pain.

Yeah... your gay. My IG choices sucked ass so it's really not a good test. pretty much you could have gone out there with a 10 man Neck squad and still owned my ass. lol.

That was just them using their bread crumbs to find their way back to the monolith.

Hey man, they still work.

Just not nearly as well as in 4th =(.

The biggest problem is losing assaults, but with enough scarabs, once can do just about anything.

Did you know that by mixing equal parts of frozen orange juice concentrate and gasoline one can make napalm?

Managed to go 1-2 in the tourney, mainly due to big stupid mistakes I made during the games, and the fact that someone ran 3 battlewagons in a 1200 point game.

I would definitely go with the first list.

Don't kid yourself. Your list is quite bad. How would you take down IG armor spam? Glance it to death? DS a monolith, thanks for the GG. When I roll up 2 LRC in your face and unleash 13 terminators how will you stop it? O wait you can't.

You are easy to phase out and have no units that hit hard. O man your 6" movement tank is going to kill me! O wait... you were dumb enough to hold it in reserves. 8/10 times I bet that thing won't even be on the board vs. a good opponent.

You want competitive crons? Run MC crons or take some good units like Destroyers and Immortals, tomb spiders and all that!

Yea, this is right on the money. Necrons are bad enough as it is at lower point levels and these lists don't help. Both these lists are slow, have very little range, are not very durable (WBB is not all that great) and lack anything to deal with tanks, let alone mech
There are competitive Necron builds out there, these however are not.
