While fiddeling with my list for the 'Ard Boyz I have found myself at an impass. I've been trying to organize my heavy support choices but I can't quite find a combo I'm happy with so I thought I'd ask dakka's thoughts. So far here are the combos I've come up with so far.

1) Lotsa firepower, but sadly no standard LR's for long range firepower, something I just feel weird without.

2x Leman Russ Demolishers (LC, PCSponsons)
1x Leman Russ Vanquisher (LC)
2x Griffons

2) More russ hulls, and more spare points, but not enough to squeeze in another russ

2x Leman Russes (HB)
1x Leman Russ Vanquisher (LC)
1x Leman Russ Demolisher (LC, PCSponsons)

Now in the last one I could spend some points on upgrading the russes to demolisher but I like the stock russ specifically for its range.

3) Maximized use of points, inefficiant deployment

1xDemolisher (LC, PCSponsons)
w/ 2x Leman Russes (HB)
1x Vanquisher (LC)
1xGriffon

I know it's more pieplates but I just don't think that the griffon is useful enough to take if I have to squadron up all three of my non-vanquisher russes.

Well that's the situation so what do you all think? And I know some of you will tell me to to take those new eradicators but dangit there's just something wonderful about S10 ordnance that 3x S7 blasts just can't match.

I pose this question to the community as well. Assuming I ended up with only taking 3 russes (1 Stock w/LC, 1 Vanq w/LC, & 1 Demolisher w/LC and PCS) what would be the ideal way to divide them amongst 2 squadrons? I would think that putting the Stock Russ with the Demolisher would be the way to go but I wanted to hear ideas.

Do you really want to use the Vanquisher? It seems like it'd be more frustrating than useful.

Actually, it you give pask as an upgrade to the vanquisher it can be quite a good tank hunter, and can cripple most monsterous creatures. Str 10 lascannons anyone?

Thanks for the replies guys. I've been using a vanquisher for some time now without pask and find that it works very well still in its intended role of anti-armor 14 hunting. I've looked at and considered pask but I find that I keep my vanquisher moving pretty constantly and as such would not be able to take advantage of his extra rule and while hitting on a 3+ would be nice I just can't justify the points for it.
