Finally decided to take my PS£ online. Tried to get Spacve Marine online, but needed to download the updates. All 9Gigs worth. My PS3 stopped at 50% downloaded because there wasn't enouh memory space .

When people can't see good music when it is literally blasting them in the face. If old music was good, then why is it old while dupstep/house is new and popular.
When you forget that people in this thread (Squid, lookin at you) are those stereotypical people who want people to think they're cool because they think that modern stuff sucks. And Cas, just when I was starting to like the Word Bearers

But seriously, I listen to many different genres of music, particularly Trad Scots and older rock music, and the skill required to produce the music those people do is huge. Dubstep and similar is just computerised and soulless.

Nah old stuff was great. See Vietnam War, racism, and the Greatful Dead. And also, my thing about when people say that dubstep is soulless is that it's not the meaning behind a song that makes it good, its the beat. I just like Nothing But The Beat. Cookie to the first person who gets the reference there
YKTSF when people think that it is to express my hatred for it. (OK, it partly is!) I'm going for a discussion on music and why people like/dislike what they do.
Skrillex seems OK sometimes (usually not for full songs though), one of the exceptions of dubstep to me that doesn't sound like someone has shoved gak into an amp and recorded the outcome. Now Nightcore, that's a genre that's all gak all the time. Off to Cas' thread I suppose.
