Soooo, is the not-Banshee with the pole arm the new autarch, or is this the new Corsair design? Last pic in the video shows an entire unit with this kind of helmet.

Really?!? I thought the Chaos Marines had a definite purple hue to their armour.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I definitely get a Slaanesh vs Ynnari vibe from the video.

Not that it is both, but it could be black legion and Slaanesh worshipping marines.

Same WarCom link, but confirms it's a battlebox.

I think it's an autarch, and the eldar coming out of the webway portal look to be a more generic assembly of leadership figures (seers/autarchs). It also seems a bit too ornate for Corsairs, but who knows.

Autarch helmet with mandiblasters.

Yeah I think you are right, it's the same symbol on the current Autarch helmet. There's a male and female autarch in the fighting images with different helmets so looks like we might get a few different options on how to build them.

Can't wait for this! The Eldar are finally coming!

Little interest in Chaos Marines, but I might consider a battle set if it has a Master of Possession. Been after one for Blackstone Fortress...

The CSM at the end who crushes the soulstone is the Warpsmith. He's got the same smoke stacks on his power pack as the old model.

So, I wonder when they'll give us a time for tomorrow's preview.

I would totally go halfsies on a csm vs elder box set for the chaos space marine half...

It isn't slaaneshy at all. An eldar is reciting the verse we got instead of five rumor engine pics, and the song is of 'succor' (as in respite and hope in a time of hardship); given the Slaanesh wants to eat eldar, that isn't a place to go for hope.
The chaos marines are just genericus blandius badguyius (in their traditional black and gold).

The 'autarch' in the video isn't anything to write home about. The full cape is excessive, the feathers a little less so, the armor and spear are a bit dull in all honesty. I guess we'll see, but I'm expecting a not-particularly exciting versus box rounding out a month of previews of mostly the same models.

I'd go with an short article already set to go up at the usual time (1pm eastern)

Chaos Marines with plastic Noise Marine upgrades?

The special edition Noise Marine was quite popular, and it seems that they'll want to replace the current resin upgrades at some point.

Because of an excess of hope. Duh!

Agreed. An upgrade sprue for normal Chaos Space Marines is an undue amount of work for not particularly exciting results. There's precious little reason not to go the full extent. The better looks will pay for themselves.

So do you reckon they'll also get their own Codex at some point, like the Deathguard and Thousand Sons? Or maybe a supplement?

I've got no stake in them, but just curious as I remember them from back in the day as bit of a novelty, like marines on motorbikes.

The Emperor's Children are with the World Eaters
the two major (dedicated to one Chaos God only)
legions which had been waiting for ages to get
their codex proper.

Anything short of a full release (codex and 2, 3 kits)
would be disappointing at this point.

No interest in getting more Black Legion or
dinobot deamon engines as far as I am concerned.

Excited to see the Eldar part of the set however.

Looking at the Chosen's armour in the video, it doesn't look like "standard" CSM armour. No exposed power cables on the chest. Looks closer to the armour on the new Havocs. If it is, think they'll be T5 like Havocs?

What'll be interesting is if EC and WE will have rules in the new CSM book and then get their own books as well. That being said, I doubt it and I'm sure they'll both remain in CSM for some time.

The verse is IMO Ynnari themed. The song of succor is a reference to Ynnead (there was/is a relic pistol called Song of Ynnead). My interpretation of this is:

Autarch kills some CSM but is killed in turn by Warpsmith (or maybe a 2nd Autarch is killed as the helmet on the ground is the Autarch helmet with Scorpion rune and mandiblasters).
Warpsmith picks up and crushes soulstone, releasing the soul of the Eldar.
Other Eldar appear from the Webway gate. The song of final succor is reference to the soul hearing the song of Ynnead or the Ynnari and instead of being sucked into the warp, ends up being "stored" by the Ynnari, which is what Yvraine is described as doing for example in their original WD article. They become living Infinity Circuits for the souls of the dead.

I just hope this isn't GW's way of excusing the Eldar being beaten down by the CSM but then saying "No, despite losing miserably and humiliatingly, it's really not a defeat. In defeat you shall know victory. By losing and dying, you actually strengthen Ynnead". I can imagine Eldar, especially Craftworld Eldar, players would be getting tired of their faction being the go to xenos race to be beaten up by GW whenever they want a punching bag. That happened with the boxed set they were in with Deathwatch, Death Masque.

To be fair pretty much any fiction GW writes in the 40k timeline, other than one or two sentence blurbs in codexes, has loyalist marines winning if they are involved. Granted I haven’t read any GW fiction for a few years, but that was one of my least favorite parts of what was (mostly) a pretty bad line of novels.
