Hi peeps & creeps...
I'm a danish warhammer collecter, painter and player, who have finally found my way to DakkaDakka. I was looking for a place to post my Witch Hunter army, and it seems as if I've finally found it!

My Witch Hunter army is so far called Sanctus Animi which is Latin for "Holy at heart". I've tried many colour schemes since I began collecting/painting this army about 6 years ago... but I've finally decited the colours now... I think I've got a lot of converted miniatures besides the painted ones, and I'm hoping to have them repainted soon... They are painted in an old colour scheme or not painted at all... Well, now to the pictures:

A standart sister in my icy new colours (she's painted very rough as a colour test):

And a serv-bot in the same colours - also painted very rough and fast: (Kudos to my fiance for the conversion)

My Soulweeper-tank when it was only scratch:

The result of some hours of hard work:

And here is the Apocalypse "create-it-yourself"-sheet with info on the tank:

I'll post an army list (1500 pts) as soon as I've got it all done... and maybe a list of figures to get converted/painted plus a status on 'em...
It's about time I try to get some structure into my work on this army after 6 years in the makeing

Comments are welcome... And the tank is approved to be used in battle under the house rules, so don't get started on that

Nice SoulWeeper
however it seems to it is slightly underpriced IMO it should be more like 120 or 150 points
but if you like it how it is dont change it.

Welcome to Dakka, great to see some more Danes in here!

I like the paintjob on that Sister of Battle, she looks almost Blanche´esque, not sure if that´s intentional, but that´s what I´m getitng.

The servitor is a nice conversion, good use of bits and looks like it would fit in with the ones GW makes...

The Servitor is really cool, but the Soulweeper is too great. Can't wait seeing him painted.

Very interesting idea for a SoB tank.

I'm not a big fan of your paintjob though. The colours just don't work imo.

Glad to see you join up, and good to see another Sisters player!

I am incline to agree with Anung Un Rama, but I think I can be more specific. You are relying too much on dry brushing it seems, which results in the sort of patchy colors you have. While that works well for things like hair and cloaks, I would go for solid base coloring on the armor and skin, with highlighting as you like to do them. So long as how you like to do them is not just a dry brush

A promising start though, and I think that with some different brush techniques to even out the colors your scheme will pan out nicely.

First of all, thanks for all the replies

Hughzle >> We've set it to 100 pts so far... When it's tested in battle we'll reconsider the cost... Thanks

Xanthos >> My intention was to go as far away from the boring red/white/black colour scheme, which everybody seems to follow... And I thought some cold colours would do the work... Along with some snow covered bases, when the're ready for that Just because they look in a certain way on the boxes, I like to think we as painters have a free will ;-) I'm glad someone liked it, since I've been trying out a lot of colours during the 6 years this army has been in the making

Anung Un Rama & Wehrkind >> As I wrote in the text by the pictures, it was a speed-paint like try-out of the colours (among several others)... Actually I don't even think the armour is painted everywhere on the miniature And I guess I just hate when a miniature has too much painting on it.. I've made that mistake one time too many some years ago ;-) I know that the colours are kinda conventional, and maybe it's a love/hate case to interfere with the standard colours of the SOBs, but that's a matter of taste, I guess

I have no problem with drybrushing, I just don't like your choice of colours. Bronze/copper and that bluish grey just don't work together.

Thanks, all

Now it's time for a tiny update: My Inquisitor Lord Iudex Marcellus.
He is based on the Fabius Bile minuature and carries the organ-like back piece of the Emperors Children Lord and the brazier of Holy Fire from the standard Inquisitor Lord.

The reason why I choose to use these miniatures, that may seem like a chaotic choise for an Inquisitor, is because my chapter of Witch Hunters work under the believe that you cleanse fire with fire (hench the Soulweeper )

So here he is:

"EGO sum sentio, EGO sum jury, EGO sum carnifex"

O H I am in the Webway...

Models look good but I always laugh when people make their own rules for tanks and vehicles. 120" st9 AP3 cannon that auto-causes leadership tests after shooting a unit and it causes moral checks within 6". LOL. All for 90 points!

Sorry but the person who approved that is out of it. You also failed to mention what happens if they fail a "soul drain" leadership check. Do they fall back or die? I would spam that and laugh as it is untouchable and for 3 it's only 270 points. Yeah.

If your army is based on fire and cleansing why not take a suped up redeemer type tank. Give it side sponson heavy flamers and make it 100-120 points for a semi-fair unit.

Even a "rain of fire" tank that causes D3+1 barrage small blast templates that are ST5 AP5 with AV 12 10 10 with gun range of 36" would be fluffy and for around 100 points (if not maybe 120) would be better. Your tank ATM is ridiculous. Stick it in cover and it can be away from even lascanon range.

Does this mean theres more than one Carnifex? Uh Oh. About the painting I like the armour and the colour choice but the face doesn't work for me yet although it is a WIP. The conversions are interesting you certainly going for a Radical Witch Hunter force. Any plans for Daemon Hosts?

He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. Then GW must crack you up, since they are the ones giving us the oppotunity... Sorry, I just can't take you seriously, since you burst out like some kid who doesn't get his will. You are the exact reason I wrote "And the tank is approved to be used in battle under the house rules, so don't get started on that". The cost is as you would know, if you read the other posts, not certain yet... it is set to 100 pts temporary, since it has not yet been testet. And where I play, we play for fun - not for power playin' and to each and every single rule in all it's might and glory.

And yeah, if the test is failed they flee.

Llamahead >> "Carnifex" is latin for "Executioner" and the quote means "I am judge, I am jury, I am executioner"
The faces actually won't be as light and undetailed as the test miniature, they will have normal and not pale skin... just finished my Uriah Jacobus, and he does not look as seasick as the sister

Get the ice bases right and you've sold me on the whole deal. Love a well-done frosty finish on an army!

@EzeKK: don't judge the SoulWeeper in isolation - other house-approved vehicles in Nemesister's group might make that look anaemic. It's all about the context!
