I'm pretty sure that's just a joke, but it's rubbing alcohol. You use it to clean cuts and stuff and I'm sure if you tried drinking it you'd make yourself a bit sick.

Anyway, the dry pigments sound interesting, but can you seal them up after applying them? I assume that's what the alcohol is for but I heard using pigments like that on gaming models was a bad idea for some reason.

this looks insanely easy and with great results.

But I'm worried by what sidstyler just said.

Use rubbing alcohol to set and use a normal mat sealer to seal.

Problem solved.

Yes just as Clay said. It's just powder used in paint without a medium to float in. This is just another technique you can use. If you add the powder to water it turns into a wash. If you add a lot to a medium acrylic gel it turns to paint. I like it because you have more control in this form. For intricate stuff you can powder it up, then gently rub the surface with a cloth to leave the rust in the recesses. I use alcohol to semi turn the powder into a wash ON the model to help it stick better. If you continually rubbed it while you finished up the model it will take some of it off if not fixed with something. But when varnished it is as protected as the rest of the paint on the model.

How do the MIG pigments compare to the Doc O'Brian set pigments from what you've seen? (I think I saw you had ordered the Doc ones).

They are the same. Only problem is you can't order single colors of Doc's. I've only seen kits.
