I like how the kid gripes about the quality of the sound and how it takes him 3 days to figure out that the tape can be flipped.

I remember one of my first tapes was Nirvana's Nevermind. I nearly wore out the tape from listening to it like 4 times a day for nearly 2 years.

I used walkmans growing up too. Something about the hiss make rock so much more raw. Oh clear sound, what have you done to us???

I remember feeling like the coolest kid in my class when I got a diskman in like 1988. Instead of a belt clip, it had this rubbery strap and you were supposed to hang it over your shoulder. the disk skipped pretty much every step you took. The first CD I ever bought was Winger's first album!

I had my walkman with me at my games club once.

One of the kids asked me how much storage it had and if it could play video.

lol. noobs.

I used to love bringing my walkman and tapes to school and showing off/sharing what I had. It was also cool to swap/make tapes. I remember I used to record bunches of stuff from Live105.

How does it feel to be in a sad minority?

Sorry, I forgot my <sarcasm> tags.

I wanted a Zune until I found out that almost no one has one, so my main reason of want(the ability to trade music from Zune to Zune) would be relatively useless to me.

I use a creative zen portable thingy.

It came in black, and wasn't an iPOS (yes, I know it's spelled 'iPOD'. The POS refers to other factors).
It worked fine with my comp without having to install itunes.

It doesn't play video, but I have a laptop with a 15.5 inch screen which works better for video (it's an Asus, with an 'apple' sticker centred on the lid. I call it my ipod with 120gb HD and 15.5 in. screen).

I know three other people who use zunes (albeit hardware hacked ones). Two of them also have linux on their xboxes.

Isn't that the only reason people bought the original Xbox?

PS: I used to own a Walkman, it broke. And now I have no way of listening to music on the go.

30 years from now the iPod will be like a piece of Victoriana.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

What a musical dichotomy... or is it?

I had a great music player, ran on AAA batteries, plugged right into my USB so I could copy files right onto it.

Then I lost it.

Stupid small technology.

So I got an IPOD suffle, still haven't figured out how to put music on the damn thing.

Maybe.... my current playlist has Johnny Cash, Red Sovine, Concrete Blonde, Metallica, Bad Religion, Misfits, Apocalyptica, Several 80's Themesong remixes, and Fleetwood Mac to name a few...
