Hihi , made this thread to see how your gaming group have adapted to the base switch.

Have they switched to 1 large base? or still lenient and ok with them on their 2 separate bases?

Of course , not only does it pose a minor trouble rebasing , it means we have to buy the large bases
to fit them on again :'/

Oklahoma City, Ok.

i've been doing mine with the "loader" on a smaller 28mm base, magnetized for easy removal from the the larger 60mm base.

In my case, I have the two gunners, and the weapon as three different models so i can place them cool in buildings and stuff. By all means don't change ur models unless you want to, just treat them as one dude to please the retards who made it that way.

Most of my HW teams are already on the 60mm bases. The few that aren't were the result of "stretching" the HW box by making a few standing guardsmen toting shouldered missile launchers. If I get around to it, I'll probably remount them on 60mm bases as well, but they're not really part of my current army.

Now they're stuck with a 2W statline, I'm slowly making the transition towards 60mm bases. I won't rebase my small-based heavies, but rather will build conversion bases with round cutouts. This is more space-efficient for storage, and easily lets me remove a model as a wound marker.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

The majority of my Heavy Weapons are old metal Catachans. They don´t have bases for the gun and the loaders are separate troopers on infantry bases. Nuff said. I am not going to make any fancy retooling for them. If I play against some new opponents, I`ll just make sure I point out this pre-game to avoid the inevitable questions. In play I just keep the gun and loader within coherency from each other and so far nobody has complained.

Why would you have to rebase? There is no rule requiring you to rebase your models to the whatever the current line of models happen to use. Main rulebook basically says they have to be on what they came with. My RT-era heavy weapons are on the 25mm bases they came with. In fact, I'd have to get opponent's permission to place them on anything else. Now that the heavy weapon team is a single two-wound model, the "loaders" have been reassigned as lasgunners in squads. Basically, any squad with a heavy weapon is only nine models.

That is not the issue here don, the issue is that the HWT is now a SINGLE model with 2 Wounds, and you have to represent a Single Model with 2 wounds.

Exactly, they're now a single model. So Gwar, are you saying that ANY multi-wound model has to have some special base or something? I don't think that's what you're saying but what precisely do you mean by "represent a Single model with 2 wounds"?

Cause there are many multi-wound models out there on 25mm bases that have nothing extra to show they are a multi-wound model. Older IG Heavy Weapon models are now just one more. If they take a wound, I put a wound marker on them, just like any other multi-wound model. If I assign a ST6 or higher wound to them and they fail any appropriate saves, they die to Instant Death, just like any other multi-wound model. So what is different about IG heavy weapons teams, a single model with two wounds, that requires something to "represent" their 2 wounds?

I don't care how you represent it. However, many people do. The fact is, HWT now come on 60mm bases, if you don't rebase them, people have a legitimate point of contention.

okay Gwar, now that you've told everyone how it should be done, what about Luna's original question? how do you base yours? if you don't have an answer, i don't see how you're contributing to the OT.

"That is not the issue here don, the issue is that the HWT is now a SINGLE model with 2 Wounds, and you have to represent a Single Model with 2 wounds."

that's not the issue here Gwar. she asked how you, or your group are basing now with the change. and dealing with existing models based on 2 seperate bases.

Bawwww Sandy Vagina.

@Luna: I only have a Very Small Cadian Force (Cadian 8th to go with my Wolves :3), but my 3 HWT are based on the 60mm Bases.

dead account

I've played only one IG player at my LGS and I don't remember what they did with their HWT. I'm building up an IG force and plan to play my HWTs (if any) on the big base.

No-one will care TBH. if they do just say "I got this base with it." They cannot prove you didn't.
