It would be pretty hard (impossible) for an ork mek to just "stumble upon" still sleeping orks without setting some sort of alarm, being noticed by tomb spyders and other such guardians, etc.

O H I am in the Webway...

Sounds a bit out there but whatever fits what you want your army to be.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you

As I've said many times before, with a good story thats reasonable and believable, you can do anything in the 40K universe.

For example, as the fluff makes it virtually impossible for them to capture deactivated necrons, Why not have them as battle damaged necrons that haven't been phased out for some reason, such as radiation storm or shields in the area blocking the normal means they use for removing all trace of anything necron.

Orks then scavenged the broken parts, legs, arms torso's, etc. And then fashioned them that way such as orkies are apt at doing. Would let you do some fantastic part ork part necron conversions.

If you really want to go down the path of using deactivated necrons, you could also make a story about some brave orks who infiltrate a crypt and use dampeners to avoid detection while they steal a handful of sleeping necrons. Sadly less believable IMHO, but its your fluff and your army so I wish you the best either way.

still sleeping necrons. not still sleeping orks.

and the imperium has stumbled upon tomb worlds where that power has been drained so there is no alarm to set off. Not until a C'tan arrives, that is.

Congratulations, that was the stupidest remark the entire wargaming community has managed to produce in a long, long time.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.

Make them, and create whatever backstory you want. If you want orky necrons, use pariahs that drape orky flesh on them instead of human skin!

Necrons that got Ork-ed because the power of the Waaaagh! turned off the teleport field and stopped them activating?

Seems fun to me. Necrons with orky metal plates and things welded on, destroyers with wheels...

Hell, maybe a speed freek army with all the wheels replaced with pairs of necron legs, and destroyer bodies for tracks.
