What should I do with the Burna bitz from my lootas?
I was thinking they might make a great orky minefield.
any thoughts?

Sell it , many people need them to complete their unit :x

Really three options:

Mate the Loota/Burna box with a Boyz box to make Lootas and Burnas.

Sell or trade the set of bitz you're not using.

Toss the spare bitz in your Bitz Box until something interesting happens.

Take Option 1 and mate the some Boyz and the Burna bits and make some Deathdealing Burnas

And the winner in the category; "Oddest question in 40K" is......Lordofthedead with "What should I do with my Burna bits from my Lootas?".

Build Burnas of course.

Yep. Build burnas. Once you play against a Nidzilla player once or twice, or against a plague marine chaos army with their T5 +FNP, or against kroot, or any other unit pretty much, you'll realize how much fun having 12-15 burnas dropping 12-15 templates against an enemy unit, or having them assault a Nidzilla list with their Initiative order power weapons is.

You should definitely make some Burna boyz,a Mob in a Battle wagon can do very evil things to your opponent & their aplication against units in cover is not to be underesitamated.

Combine the Loota and Burna bitz into Lurnas, they're Orks that like to read.

I thought Bootas was the new unarmed CC unit for the next codex?

Loota + Burna = Lurna
Burna + Loota = Boota

Ork nomenclature is a simple system based on the principle XY = x + Y-y. Where lower case letters are the first letter in each noun. For example, Mork is the Ork god of Meks so:
Meks + Ork = Mork

Like any syntax it has rules for special circumstances.
An example would be:
(Flash + Green) + (Burna + Loota) = Freeboota
