We should do armored vehicles or something. Or monsters. Have we done monsters yet?

The next Dakka challenge will be to see who can give djphranq the most monies. Your prize? The peace of mind that djphranq is spending your monies.

Actually...

How about a' Make a Better Vulkan' contest? I hear a lot of folks gripe about the new Vulkan He'stan model coming out.

On the Transformers one, I have had an idea in regards to that bouncing arround in the back of my head for years that would utilize the models in the Tau range.

Terrain.

Yes I think that would do just fine. Nice level playing field that can include hobbyists from many backgrounds. No need to be all that specific about the rules, more a sand-box thing.

Terrain could include objective markers, buildings, ruins, and anything that minis can "interact" with. A mini is not terrain, and any used should be garnish for the terrain piece itself. Yes, a pile of minis could most definitely be considered terrain .

Agreed.

Or how about re-write and play test (Blank) codex, with correct spelling, punctuation and Grammar.

If its not spelt with British English ie Daemon, Armour, ect... then you fail.

British English is English. It doesn't need the British prefix, thank you

Which reminds me of a Flashman quote...

"Don't lecture me about honour, you can't even spell it!"

From "Flashman and the Angel of the Lord" as he is once again press ganged into service, this time by the Americans.

I'm sorry Sah, but to us septics, there is American English, and British English and the Former to many is "English" however I know they are wrong.

It is Dakka Dakka Death match.

Each week two contestants will be locked in a cage with 16 hungry squigs. Then we will be forced to fight to the death with our feet(no shoes allowed). While we also try to avoid being eat by the squigs.

But seriousally I wish we would have a non 40k related one.Perhaps something to do with PP or even WHFB.

I vote for civilian life. Do a model or vehicle or diarama or building with no weapons, battle damage or signs of war.

Just daily life in the fantasy or 40k world.

Back on topic i add another vote for 40k transformers
Tau, Ork, SM, IG, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Necrons, CSM and Inquisition all could have transformable models although Daemons and Tyranids are stuffed.

I like this idea ( because it doesnt favor just 1 faction like creating Vulkan model )

The next contest is planned but we are still negotiating prizes. Shouldnt be too much longer now. We'll watch this thread too and add any good ideas to our master contest lists (which have about 6 years worth of contest ideas already).

We should do a diorama challenge of some sort, at some point! Objective markers might be cool too, like Wrexasaur said.

I like the idea of the average life thing, but Objective markers would be beneficial since you can use it in a game as well.

Maybe the restrictions are that the Objective have to be an "obvious" fit for your army (i.e. matching colors, bases, army race, etc...), you would need to produce 5 small round bases (for multiple objective scenarios), and 1 large round base objective for a single objective scenario.

Then everybody votes, ...., and profit.

I like the terrain and Objective Markers ideas.

I'm down with barlio though, challenges that create something that can be used in games would probably be great encouragement for people.

A single objective marker (40mm round) would be a nice clean canvas for people to add their army flavor to.

For painting challenge, I'd like to see a "Wounded soldier" theme, each entry has to be wounded in some manner. You don't often see people with wounded infantry models, unless it's wounded enemies on some army hero base.

That would be cool. I've had the 'wounded' Cadian model for a while now and I've not had a use for him yet. Building a 40mm base around him would be fun.

I've also got lots of SM bits and I've been itching to make some markers to represent fallen brothers who are need of 'gene harvesting'.
