So there's a local tourney coming up and the prizes are cash. Therefore I wanted to be as competitive as possible. I've come up with three lists which I think will do Ok and want your opinion.

First off, the tourney comprises of 4 1-hour games and the only factor of overall victory is your w-l ratio. I know Mech Vet IG, Either dual lash or oblit spam chaos and 7 drop pod marines and swarm tyranids will be present, but that doesn't mean I will be matched against them.

At any rate, here are the three lists. The first two focus around a nob biker squad and the last is a small Kan wall.

LIST A:

Warboss with bike, PK, Attack Squigg

Nob bikers w/ Painboy, PK & Waaagh Banner, PK & BP, BC, BC & SH/Skorcha

I voted none of these because I have a totally different list for you to try:

I voted for none of them; all three are pretty shoddy lists.

You're missing a theme, your units aren't designed to play with each other as an army, and....a LOT of other problems. Read some of the other army lists on here, even just on the first page. I've written pages and pages on some of the threads, and you could benefit from reading some of them rather than me typing here again.

i ran this at 1000 points for 16 games so far, losing twice and getting a draw, the rest were wins:

KFF Mek, eavy armor, cybork
KFF Mek, eavy armor, cybork

20 shoota boyz, nob with PK and bosspole
deffdred, 2 x skorcha, plates
deffdred, 2 x skorcha, plates

Stutteringdave, you only have ONE unit capable of holding an objective.

That's a completely awful army list. You realize that Deff Dreads can't hold an objective right? Even when they're in the troop choice slot?

i should have noted that in the games i play we play pure annihilation.

i do realize that dreds cant hold objectives.

so in my games the list is far from "completly awful".

OT: if i had to pick a list from your selection, i would go with list C, it has the most focus, tho i would take shootas over sluggas.

OK well DashOfPepper is right it is completely awful for tournament play where 2/3 of games will be objective based. Here is what I do if I play you not annihilation. Put one objective as far away from the dreads out of LOS and just kill of your one squad of what?... 20 boyz and I most likely win if you don't get to my one objective.

Also note that Dashofpepper knows what he is talking about and probably one of the best ork players out there and you should go read his stuff.

The most solid list is list C, with lots of Boyz and a wall of Walkers.

Although I see alot of bullshits up there, but I do agree on one comment - i.e. take shoota boyz in your kan list

I m an advocate of trukk boyz, but if above is what you have, then List C is your best bet, but you need to make a few minor changes.

I say go with none. Look at lists from other Dakkaites and change them a bit to have a little fun with it. But if I had to choose one I'd go with c. the more boys the better. I personally would run 1000 pointers with at least 75 if im not playing trukk boys or something of the sort.
But im not the best player, still i say gun for c.
Oh and add boss poles to the nobz in your boyz squads.

i would go with C as i stated above, but shootas beat slugga in most games. at 1000 points i think a load of kans or boyz is really hard for most OP's to handle.

One of the primary reasons for List A was it's my "fun list" I realize it's not as compeittive but old Zogwart is just too fun to me.

I agree with Dash and I know Lists A and B are split, but it was really an attempt to fit Nob Bikers in 1,000 points. I still havn''t figured out a way to do so. I'll look on here for 1k Nob bikers but I don't recall ever seeing them. Usually I se them in 1500 pt. lists where the extra mega unit can be afforded.

As for Shoota Boyz, I certainly have pleanty of troops to switch all the slugga boyz to shoota boyz and I'll do so. I think I will go with List C, the Kan wall. It's my preferred list anyway. Just means I have to get off my lazy bum and paint my Kans
