Hello there

My name is Hillary, aka Vermilion Butterfly. I really am starting to grow an interest in Warhammer due to my boyfriend. I saw all the wonderful Orks and daemons that he painted and it made me want to paint some of my own, haha.

I really want to start my own army, but I don't have any money atm... :(

But I do enjoy being a Warhammer GF haha, it's a fun world to be a part of. I think the game itself is pretty interesting and unique. You need a lot of intelligence, logic, and artistic ability to play... and of course dedication!!

But right now I'm just there, watching as my BF's army grows larger and gets newer pieces added to it.

If you want to know more about his army, talk to me, I'd be happy to chat about it.

With an intro that color I think she needs to play Slaanesh or Nids. Old 2nd Ed nids.

Hey, welcome to the world of Dakka. I have found that the cheapest way to get an army started is through e-bay.
There is always someone trying to flog there old models.
There always seems to be loads of SM stuff for sale. They would probably be a good Army for a beginner too.

Thank you all for the welcomes and what not, very sweet.

I changed my avatar back, haha. And, I'm still deciding what to play... but thank you for the suggestions, I'll defenitely look into that.

And no, my BF doesn't have an account yet, but when he does I'll be sure to tell you all about it.

My apologies to all of you who were injured or disturbed due to my purple text, haha...

And yes, eBay is quite a resourceful way to get some great starting pieces, and other misc. items. My BF uses that method sometimes too... I believe atm he is bidding on the Great Unclean One... I am really hoping he wins because that piece is sooooooo cool.

Ask around Dakka rather.I am the village idiot round these parts so don't take much from what I say.

But I say go here:

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/home.jsp

Read the fluff, checkout the minis.See what you like.
Something will usally strike you as "Awesome" and you'll go for that.I personally just don't like daemons because I am a grudge holder(damn you Nick and your Bloodthirsters)!!

Welcome It's fun to be able to have your significant other interested in warhammer!

My wife hates it with a vengeance but that is also fun, in it's own way!

It's also great that he can probably show you a bit about painting (if you're interested) so that when you start out, your models can look good and still be a valuable part of your army in the future . Washes are key for this! I wish I'd known about them when I first started

I personally thought daemons were very interesting, and their look is just so intimidating and scary, and I really love it. I was looking at some Slaanesh pieces and they really caught my eye.... especially the Greater Daemon of Slaanesh.

Although the paint job on the one I saw wasn't the best thing on earth, it still looked pretty kick-ass. I don't really know... I just have to look around and see what I really like.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh yeah definitely!!! My boyfriend's pieces are just so well-painted, makes me love him even more haha.

I just love getting to go to shops with him when he's buying Warhammer stuff because I get to see all these amazing things and hearing him talk about it just makes me want to become part of the fun.

I feel a little left out sometimes haha, but I really do think it's an awesome thing to get into... Warhammer is really great, you can really make some great things with a little paint and a lot of hard work, I think it's worth all the time spent.

I don't understand why some chicks don't like the Warhammer scene, it seems entertaining and fun to be a part of.

But that's just my opinion.

Hah! Well, my wife thinks the daemons models are actually "demonic"... she doesn't mind if I play the "good guys"

I'd say go for whatever army you like the look of best! Daemons are cool and organic looking, great for using washes on and painting in vibrant colors!

I think the "feeling a little left out" is why some women don't like warhammer, but if you're playing it yourself, there's nothing to be left out on

I think if girls play Warhammer it makes them look cooler and cuter, haha. (There's nothing better than a hot/cute/sexy/smart girl playing Warhammer and being very skilled at it.) And if you're doing it to be closer to your guy, that's even better too.

But I'm not doing it just for him, I'm doing it for me. And because I really need to do something other than music... practicing isn't always that fun... heheh.

But there's so much variety in Warhammer... that's why I love it. There's something there for everyone! And girls shouldn't be getting mad at their guys because they're doing something fun. Haha.

Thanks for the links I'll be sure to check 'em out in a little bit.

Welcome tp Dakka.

Any army is up for a go, but I suppose sistas of battle could be the most appealing to u? That said you could also have a fem guard army.

But never mind that, pick wat you want. As long as it serves the Emprahs will!

I was looking at some Slaanesh models and I was really attracted to that actually...

The daemonettes just kind of got to me... I really liked what I saw when I was looking up some pieces on Games Workshop.

Thank you for the greeting!

But I'm still undecided on what to play on... The possibilities are endless.
