Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

As I sit here contemplating my various army lists for different things, I've started second-guessing some of my list choices....I thought I'd pose a few questions.

1. I've never taken 'Eavy armor on the nob attached to a boyz squad. Do you think its particularly important to do so?

2. Is a squadron of killa-kans misplaced in a speed-freak army? I've had mixed results. Most of the time they move, then run. Half the time the battle is over by the time they catch up to everything. The other half of the time, they take care of deep-striking stuff with their STR10 dreadnought weaponry.

3. How important do you think Snikrot is in a speed-freak army? I'm currently using Zagstruk and stormboyz, but if my goal is to get to the enemy as quickly as possible to mix it up (and stop getting shot at), Snikrot might make a significant difference in getting my opponents to cluster more, or stay away from their rear table edge.

4. Ghazghkull + Nobs. I've spent months on Dakkadakka preaching about how powerful Ghazghkull + Nobs are in a speed freak list. I'm beginning to think my nobs are wasted points. I use Ghazghkull to kill the *really* bad stuff, and attempt to use my nobs as a counter-assault unit, or to flay big units of MEQ / TEQ stuff if I can get initiative and/or if they don't have many power weapons. In a lot of games recently, they've just hung out in a trukk, not attacking anything because the target either needs Ghazghkull (the nobs would die to power weapons) or regular boyz + a nob can handle it.

Thoughts?

1. How much is Eavy armor, like 5 points? I say why not because mid to late game it will probably come down to the Nob making a couple of saves. If you are giving him a power klaw I say go ahead. Otherwise you are not really investing that many points so you don't need quite as much insurance.
2. I don't think Killa-kans are misplaced. More armor and targets for you opponent to have to deal with. Since you will have so many truks you can protect the kans.

I actually take Eavy Armor these days on the Nob. There have been occasions I actually need that single Boy to live and I can allocate a wound on the Nob with a chance to make an armor save.

Killa Kanz have been something I'm still trying to get used to. I play a mech list and they have been a bit tricky to figure out. They have certain uses, but are not quite as utilitarian as another Battlewagon would be. If you are running a lot of Trukks, the Kanz should be useful in making your opponent make choices in target priority.

Snikrot has been ok in my games. For my Necro list, I removed that unit as it was expensive and very situational. Then again, he may not be well suited for my army as the Kommandos seemed to constantly come from Ambush without any other support.

Nobz are a great unit. I don't go all out and spend crazy amounts of points on them, but they definitely serve a purpose. They are a good counter assault unit and are also a scoring unit in my army. I like having at least one resilient scoring unit as many games come down to fending off attackers on an objective. It's easy to take an objective, but difficult to hold it.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
