I was debating on running a Big Mek with a KFF inside or behind my Stompa. Are there any rules to prvent this, if not decent idea for extra protection?

No rules to prevent this, and it's a wise choice. I typically run my Klaw Stompas with 4 or 5 big meks in each, one with KFF. Permanent 4+ cover save and easy repairs of anything blown off. Your opponents might not like it much though.

Yah your friends might say wow that sucks! take that kind of rules hocus pocus and play those loosers at the game store that play just to win! Ocasionaly I like to play with friends with stuff I havent taken before or a cool conversion that probably gives me no real advantage but then again Im a sentimental old fool. Besides I dont want to play this game as a arms race to find the most broken unit spray paint it blue and throw it on the table FTW. Not enjoyable IMHO.

Im so sick of people saying this isn't fair. If everyone got what they wanted when it came to unfairness than everything would be exactly the same, and even then someone would still complain. If the save was like 3+ and could be used on the shields (if you take the mek version), then yea Id say its unfair.

Its a huge walker that has 13 armor that every freakin unit is going to shoot at. Take any advantage you can get.

didn't say it wasn't fair
didn't say it wasn't legal

I did say I did not like it.

If I wanted to play a game of shoot at the big stoopid thing on the table I would play OGRE. So my point was among friends I would play it so they could have fun with their stompa but as for me It wouldn't be such a fun game. But for my friends I'd do it because they probably will or already have acomadated any number of my annoying prefrences.

Nothing prevents it. I think this is a 'how does your group play APOC?' question. Some groups like to pull out all the nasty tricks they can and try to one-up each other. Some groups like to have a nice fluffy battle report with a Codex Marine Company facing off against a balanced Ork army. As with all things APOC, I'd check with your opponents first.

Technically, nothing but a good story, stops you from having a Big Mek with KFF following around a Warlord Titan, but it won't make you many friends.

Remember D weapons destroy this combo. So it isnt as powerful as people think.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

True, but if you are playing against those who do not have D strength weapons... muahahahahahaha!

What's D-strength?

D strength just goes through armor. It automatically makes a penetrating hit on vechiles. Also instantly wounds non-vehicle models and ignores cover along with doing instant death stuff.
