They say the Emperor protects; tell that to the Orks. |

I would encourage you to drop the kommandos and the nob. 5 of them don't scare anything. You've got the right idea with mechanized orks and a mek with a KFF to protect them, but you've got too few troops to really take advantage of that mek with the KFF. What would you think of using Mad Dok Grotsnik instead? That 4+ FNP and extra powerklaw would go a long way towards causing grief. Or, leave the Mek with the KFF in, and add a warboss with a powerklaw and 'Eavy armor. You need powerklaws to deal with marines in a small army when you can't overwhelm them with numbers.

Ok thanks for the advice Dash, i am liking the Mad Dok more and more but i would really like to be able to cram my boyz into trukk and have them be relativy safe
I took out the kommandos and 1 boy from each squad
I used the extra points for a Warboss with PK and 'eavy armor and give a Rokkit to each boy squad on the off chance it hits a damn thing lol
At 500 points i know there isnt much i can do to begin with but this way i could have my entire army inside 2 trukks with a 4+ cover save and boarding planks ready to let someone with a PK take some swings at a vehicle
This lookin any better? any other suggestions? Thanks a ton! i'll make a 1000 or a 1500 point list later but im going in baby steps for now lol

Hey and welcome to Da Orks!
Alright I would take out the rockits and save those points. Keep 12 Boyz in each squad. Depending on what you wanted to do, you could increase the size of your squads and drop the trukks. try squads of 20 or 30 without trukks and keep the Big Mek with the KFF. you can afford to lose orks when their sloggin in groups of 20+. You should be able to assault on turn 2 which is what you would prob get in the trukks anyways. If you realllly wanted the trukks, i would put them into a 1000 point list and put shootas in. I'm not a huge fan of shootas but Sluggas wont be able to assault when they get out of the trukk. Your shootas will be able to shoot out of the back =).
Not sure if this helped at all but i find larger mobs effective and the trukks arnt that reliable.

I personally wouldn't take two HQs and Orks are the worst shooters in the galaxy.(basically if you told them to shoot a barn door 2 meters infront of them they'd miss).
Well good luck against your buddies,

Having those PK's in Trukks with boarding planks is also my only answer to tanks at 500pts
I would be able to add more boyz if i dropped the trukks but i wouldnt be able to guarentee they get into assualt rang with decent numbers nevermind trying to get in range to assualt a tank on foot
With 2 squads of 11 Boyz and 2 HQ's then i can cram them all into both trukks (12 in each) and with the +4 cover save they would both get i can ensure the warboss and nobs at least get in CQ with PK's
I might be totally wrong though lmao
I'll see how it goes

Would it be worth it to have a warboss and a squad of Nobs? They'd be treated as troops 'cause of the warboss, and they can take as many PKs as your totals allow.
Based on 500 points, I got this:
Warboss
-PK
-Attack Squig
10 Nobs
-Painboy
-3 Power Klaws
-3 Big Choppas
-2 Shoota/Skorchas
-Bosspole
-Waagh! Banner
Trukk
-RPJ
-Boarding Planks
-Reinforced Ram
That'd make it so you HAVE to get into CC, and if you play it right you'll do that from inside the trukk. With everyone on board, you'll have 4 power weapons, with an additional attack on the boss. The scorchas will piss off anyone in cover if you have to disembark, but you'll have one shot apiece.
What do you think?

I feel that those Nobz would be really tough but when you have an entire army focusing on them im not so sure it will work...when i use a bigger point army thats something i would like to have in it though because thats a tough as nails unit
Thanks a bunch
Im still confused on the whole wound allocation thing...when they all have different equip ment like that i can spread out the wounds as i please right?

Eh, you can choose which models take which wounds. Not like you roll for wounds and then put them where you want. But, if you have a bunch of models equipped the same way you have to put wounds on the minimum amount of models--so take two wounds on a bunch of Nobs equipped and you'll have to kill one off. Unfortunately I don't think you can equip them ALL differently with this setup, but I could be wrong.
Dash made an awesome Nob mob setup, one that I actually use for my games.
1. Painboy
2. Waaugh Banner
3. Bosspole
4. Powerklaw
5. Powerklaw / Ammo Runt
6. Big Choppa
7. Big Choppa / Ammo Runt
8. Skorcha
9. Ammo Runt
10. Normal Nob
He's the knowledgeable one on this subject, not really me.
