Very good, though I personally find the green on the 'scopes a little jarring since it's an isolated colour - could you work a touch of green somewhere else on the models?
Keep it up!

LOL there are a few that have F*ed up make up and are very mannish. I guess make up only goes so far so hide the fugly.

unistoo the green scopes are a theme through out the whole army so it sorta makes sense. it really only pops out in the pictures.

Thanks everyone more to come soon.

I absolutely Love the armor! I can't believe you were out of the hobby for so long and are painting this well (unless it's related to your job?)

Excellent work About the faces, someone shared this thread with me and it looks like a great method! It's beyond my ability, but it definitely looks like you would be able to do it.

I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Actually painting has nothing to do with my job and i've only painted about 2 minis since i stopped playing in 2000 one was an IG female guard and the other was a Rackham wolfen that my boyfriend bought for me.
But i have read a lot of tutorials and i'm always looking for more.
That is a good tutorial you listed Privateer Press has a VERY similar tutorial in one of their No Quarter Mags.
With SoBs the eyes are sooooo tiny i have a real hard time seeing them and basically Fat finger them every time. I know i redid the eyes on a lot of them cause i kept screwing them up.
Here is a pic of my old paint jobs you can see the crazy black eye makeup i put on them. O_o

Looks good but hair color needs to be different. This may sound mean but painting them all the same is lazy. Bases could be better. Good effort on them though.

*whistle* wow, he paintjob on the sisters is crisp as, althought that last picture now makes me want to paint up a heavy industrial themed sisters army lols of evisceraters with cheverons /ect.

is the last pic just tinbitz drybrushed over a black under coat?

I've tried to do a similar white scheme on marines, but haven't managed to make it look good enough - not at all a easy way to paint models. So good stuff . I personally hate the hairstyle on these minis, IMO a bit of a blunder from GW.

I thought the same about the hair color when i was doing it but i tried some different colors i wanted to stay either white or black and let me tell you white hair was over powering especially with the white armor.

And yes i have not found my Zen with basing, i have about 4 models i need to base right now and i'm hoping to find some sort of 'inspiration' or love of basing because right now i find it to be a chore.

Humm let me think i did that in 1999ish so i don't think tinbitz even existed at the time. I think it was a GW bronze metallic covered with black wash and flesh wash.

Well i will tell you that it took a lot of thin layers of white and controlling the paint quite a bit i made sure the white never went into the cracks or creases and if it did i had to retouch it with either black paint or wash. overall it wasn't too difficult it was just time consuming and that is where people might get stuck with it. I'm not in a hurry to get an army done so i'm just painting for the pleasure of it and don't care that i spent say 7+ hours painting one figure. Although by the time i was painting all the back packs i was so ready to be done with them. lol

I actually like guardian games a lot more than bridgetown.. but that is besides the point. I'm moving to Vancouver next month so actually playing this month is out of the question. I'm going to be spending my extra time packing. :(

I also need to get some practice games in against my friends cause i'm REALLY rusty at this point. I haven't played since 3rd edition, although i can't image much has changed.

That reminds me i need to order a couple things from GW to round out my army..

Funny you should mention Z-games , The guy that owns it use to work for me when i was a manager of the Game Shop back in the day. He was a Game Ranger or something like that, he would teach everyone how to play and host events for us. He is an awesome dude.

I didn't want to start a new thread for these pics so i figured i would add them here.

Here are some of my OLD painted minis from 1999/2000 I can really see the Sob 2nd edition codex influence on them. I remember that being the only point of reference i had for painting when i started.
I also painted all my girls with punk rock hair colors.

i apologize in advance dude to the largeness of the images.

My blue squad

white squad - and yes i cropped out that banner cause it SUCKS and i'm going to make a new one for her asap.

Veiled Squad

I think these old ones were my first attempts at painting white clothes. And yes i added netted veils onto them I always laugh at the heavy flamer with a veil. *hi i'm gonna hose you down with liquid fire and wear flammable clothes at the same time*

She is gonna bust a plasma cap in your ass

I'm trying my best not to repaint my whole army..

Ok that is all for now i don't want to make load times suck.

Very nice on the white armor! and looking at your blog - your seraphim rock!

would you link the tutorials you have read? as I am always looking for more too.

Keep up the good work!!!

I have just stripped all my tanks and sisters down and now get the long process of repainting them. I am just trying to figure out what colors I want to do them all in.
