1. How many pieces of wargear can a tau HQ battle suit take specificly weapons?

2. If the suit didn't move how many weapons can it fire and would that change if it moved?

3 Battlesuit Systems + 100 Points from the Armoury. He can take 3 weapons if he really wanted.
2. If the suit didn't move how many weapons can it fire and would that change if it moved?
1 Weapon. No it doesn't change if it moves.

How ever it does change if you take a Multitracker which allows you to fire two weapons.

Pg52 & Pg 76, BRB:
Models with the Jet Pack special rule are Relentless
Relentless models can shoot with rapid fire and heavy weapons counting as stationary.
If you have a multi-tracker, you may fire two weapons.
The most you can fire at a time is 2 weapons, and if equipped with 3 weapons you generally are wasting the points on the third. However a few people have been equipping their Crisis with 3 weapons (PR + MP +Flamer) so that you can fire your flamer at enemies who get too pesky.

As an example:
In the common 'Fireknife' crisis setup, (Plasma Rifle/ Missile Pod/Multi-tracker) you would get 1/2 PR shots (depending on range) and 2 missile pod shots, whether moving or stationary.
With a Fireknife-6 setup (TL PR, MP, HWMT) you get 1/2 re-rollable PR shots, 2 MP shots.

Sorry, but the Tau Suits have their own special rules for the jet packs. Only the Drones follow the BRB Jet Pack rules IIRC.

Nope they get the same Jet Pack rules. Unless you're thinking of Broadsides and their heavy weapons, but they don't get jet packs anyway.

Only counts for Rapid Fire Weapons, not Heavies.

Yep found it this time, didn't notice that before. But, I don't think the normal suits have any heavy weapons anyway

Wow, that is the worst case of rules lawyering I have ever seen. Possibly Correct, but considering that the universal rules for Jet Packs include relentless and Tau are the only ones that use Jet Packs....

not that it matters anyway, unless you attempt to equip a Stealth Shas'vre with a markerlight.

Its also important to note that battlesuits cannot take heavy weapons, and the drones follow the rules for jump packs in the BGB since they are not "suits" and merely become the unit type as owner. yes you may JSJ a markerdrone!!!

Umm...don't have my codex on hand but i don't believe that stealth suits have the stipulation about not behing able to fire heavys and moving like the crisis suits do.

/head assplode from GW logic and Trasvi not reading properly
Why did GW feel the need to add a heavy weapon clause to a unit that can't take heavy weapons?

Markerlights that stealth team leaders can take and marker drones.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

Marker Drones follow the Normal Jet Pack Rules, not the suit rules, and Stealth Suits CAN Move and Fire Heavy Weapons. Crisis Suits cannot, 1) because it says they can't and 2) Because they can't take Heavy Weapons anyway!

Not sure if this is true but i'm pretty sure that jet packs weren't Relentless in 4th and they wanted to make crisis suits fire their rapid fire weapons so they gave them this special rule that allowed them to fire rapid fire weapons as if they hadn't moved. Then in 5th they just added in the relentless to jet packs but we don't have a 5th codex.

It's not rules lawyering either. If you're codex has a rule that is different from a USR, but shares the same name, you go with the codex.

Is it rule lawyering for grotesques to use their FNP instead of the normal one?

Slightly different in this case where Tau are the only ones to have jetpacks, it doesn't even really need to be in the BRB.
But no matter, seeing as they can't take heavy weapons anyway (shakes head)

I suspect they will remove the rules from the crisis suits in the next codex since they automaticly put it in the jet packs. It's the same as the deep striking rule that the crisis suits get when they already get it with the jump troop rule.
