I'm still unsure about how to arm my Crisis suits in this list, and whether I should drop some suits for a big ol' infiltrating Kroot + Hounds unit or nt, so perhaps the wisdom that is the dakkadakka thoughtspace can help me mould these delightful little blue-skinned aliens into a competent take all comers fighting force. I worry that with the new mech-heavy metagame, I'm going to need more fusion suits doing the deep strike suicide.

I think their point cost is too high considering how fragile they are. Debating one squadron for the fusion, but unsure what I'd cut out.

Have you tried this list? And if you did, how did it do?

Not tried it yet, trying to get a critique of it so that I can modify my purchasing plans to suit.

I would position relay your commander for those all infiltrating shrike type armies. Take a 3rd hammerhead and take some Piranas with flechette launchers. Matter of fact I would try and Flechette all your vehicles. It really does a number on horde assault numbers. You shoot and shoot and when they finally corner some of your vehicles they take wounds on 4+. Look on your opponents face is priceless.

I like flechette's, so I might well squeeze those points in somewhere (probably lopping off a FW or pathfinder from each squad...), but I don't know if a 3rd Hammerhead is more effective than the 3 Broadsides. I'll have to math-hammer that and get back to you.

Also by Positional Relay, do you mean hold out my Commander and his Bodyguard as the 2+ unit or what?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh, and I just don't see how Piranhas are worth their points. They're too expensive as fusion platforms, and they'd be one shot as they die instantly. 80 points (fusion, flechette, disruption) seems like a lot for an 11/10/10 open top vehicle with short range weaponry.

Edge of sanity

Generally, 2 or 3 piranhas rush out and kill something nasty (land raider/leman russ/other pain in the ass) then die. If you use 2 with targeting arrays and disruption pods they have a decent chance of killing whatever you throw them at. Plus the drones hang around and annoy whatever is close.

It's the 'then die' aspect of that worries me. That doesn't seem to be for the Greater Good :-) Plus that's KP's in Annihilation.

Also, wouldn't all those lovely Railguns make a far better fist of Land Raiders or Leman Russes than the Piranhas would? Or even deep-striking the TL Fusion Blaster suits? They just seem more survivable (Depending on position and terrain as well as Markerllight boosts obviously)
