So guys i was just wondering which of the 3 is best to run. Right now i'm running 3 Land Raiders with Khorne Zerker squads in each. What would be the next step if i had to choose between these 3?

If you are going to continue playing with your berzerkers you have to keep the land raiders. You don't want your berzerkers walking/running up to their target(getting shot up all the way). You also don't want to use rhinos as you can not assault out of them.

Berzerkers are made for one thing and that is getting stuck in. The land raider is the best and only true delivery service at their disposal.

If you are thinking of going a different direction with your army I'd consider maybe two vindicators and a predator set up for anti-infantry. But really the cream of the chaos crop in the heavy section is the Obliterator. Three squads of 2 or 3 oblits can handle anything. They give you a lot of flexability. They can sit in the backfield and blast away or they can deepstrike behind enemy lines.

Well if you take Vindicators or Defilers it seems that in pairs they are better. If you only have one the opponent will hammer it and it will never get to shoot. With two it will be hard for them to focus on both. Also Daemonic possession (comes with Defiler) is a must because it really doesn't affect ordinance weapons (1" scatter won't matter more or less). My 1500 point list I'm working on will have 2 Vindicator's and one Predator.

So far the Pred has been ok. I have it at triple lacannons right now. Many people have opinions on how to best run the Predator configuration. I'd say use it to fill a weakness in your army. For example my Chaos army is Deathguard and as such is lacking in long range anti tank and monsterous creatures. Thus I equipped it with triple lascannons. However going forward I am thinking of going autocannon and two lascannons as it saves 30 points. The dakka pred (autocannon, 2 heavy bolters) is only 100 points and eats armor 4+ T3 guys for breakfast. So basically, I'd do 2 (Defiler or Vindy) 1 Pred. Or you can just go with the herd and run Obliterator spam

Alright so i have a question about the army construct rules. can vehicles be put into squadrons? If so, could my land raiders be all one squadron therefore opening up 2 more heavy slots for my army? sorry for the noob question, i just haven't run into this problem before considering i was playing an ork Foot sloggin army.

Unfortunatly none of the heavy options in the chaos marines codex can be in squadrons. So if you're doing a berzerker army, your heavy choices almost have to be 3 land raiders.

You can add extra anti-tank firepower in your elite slots through the use of dreadnoughts or deepstriking terminators. You could also use raptors with meltaguns or a Lord on a bike with a powerfist and combi-melta.

yeah i was afraid of that. So how sketchy would this be to do. if i took 3 Land raiders with the zerker squads then took Termi squads with land raiders as dedicated transports. That way they wouldnt fill up a heavy slot. If i did that, would it work out to where i could fill up my elite slots with termies and Raiders as xports?

If not, im prob going to run a squad of 10 termies that deepstrike as well as a couple of dreadnaughts.

Thoughts?

6x220=1320 points.... Thats a lot of points for something that by turn 3 starts shooting or is destroyed.

dreads and landraiders could probably work, and if you added defilers too, that would be excellent. Land raiders can count as dedicated transports, so you can have as many of them as you have infantry squads, without occupying HS slots. If memory serves me right, defilers can fleet, which means they can be pretty fast. they'd also serve as pretty good mobile firepower, so my preference goes to them. Vindicators could also work, at the expense of CC ability. I'm actually considering making a similar list for 2500, I'm wondering if it would work... hmm...

key thing is, keep everything moving at approximately the same speed. defilers work nicely along side dreads because they do exactly that. Would suggest making the dreads moderately armed, autocannons or plasma cannons would do well, just nothing greater than S7. it's unlikely that they would destroy themselves or other friendly, particularly if they're daemonically possessed.

It could even be fluffy. I'm really liking this idea. takes a lot of points, but It'd probably be good.

2 daemon princes of khorne, wings, 280.

10 khorne berserkers, 210, power weapon champ +30, 240. (or fist for 10 more points, but I'd say it isn't necessary with the dreads)
240 * 3 = 720
1100 so far.
+3 land raiders, 660
1760

3 dreads, options are:
2CC weapons, heavy flamer: 105 * 3 = 315.
twin autocannon, and heavy flamer 115*3 = 345,
plasma cannon, heavy flamer 110 * 3 = 330
Each of these works, or you could go for one of each. Flamers are there because cover is so useful now.

Let's go with the most expensive version; If you take less, add powerfists.
345 +1760 = 2105

2 defilers @ 150 each, 300.
2405 points.
for the remaining points, you could add just about anything. I would say daemonic possession on just about everything would be a good plan. 60 for the land raiders.

Hmmmm. I thought the Land Raider was only a dedicated transport for Termies. I may be wrong and i realllly hope i am. If i can have the LR be a dedicated xport for my Zerkers then i may take 3 defilers and 2 naughts and maybe a 10 man Termie squad that would deepstrike.

You can buy it as a deicated transport if you have termies...just don't put the termies in it. There are restrictions though on when the berzerkers can be put in (I think you can't start deployed in it).

ok let me see if i have this straight. Sorry for my confusion im just trying to find a way around the rule. So say i field 3 termie squads and i then field 3 LR and take them as dedicated transports. Now when i deploy, can i have the termies in reserve for deepstrike? If so, ill deploy the Zerkers outside of the land raiders and at the start of the first turn, ill move them in the LR and then move my LR. would that still act as a dedicated transport for the termies?

If that doesnt work, could i just start the termies in the LR, jump them out then jump zerkers in. This would kind of suck to do considering the termies would have to then run to the enemy...not good.

Thoughts on how to make this happen so i can atleast field 3 LR and 2 defilers?
