Stop talking about new codexes and miniatures and stuff! The best thing that could possibly happen 'd be A MOVIE!ANimated, 120 mins. watch the movie in ma signature then you know what im talkin about.I( know it's probably not gonna happen...but one can dream!!!
In a way, I dont want a 40k movie to happen. The chances of it being really good, is mostly slim to none.
BUT if it were done right, and everything was just friggin perfect, yea, itd be the movie to end all movies IMO
What races would you want in it tho? Im thinking SM, IG together, taking on.... either a massive Ork horde or some necrons. With a dash of Eldar thrown in the mix. No nids tho, because it would be compaired to ALIENS or starship troopers. Not a bad thing really, but 40k is so much more then those movies lol

QFT yeah that movie would make 40k known to the Mortals aka the rest of the world....i'd cry(the happy kind)if they made it.
Yea but still, this might be one of those, you jsut shouldnt types. Is Legend of Zelda awesome? Hell yea it is!! Is there a crappy game in that list that sucks? gak no! Is Link the baddest mofo in the whole world?!?!? Probably. Should they make it a movie? NO! It would ruin it. Cmon, Super Mario Brothers are great games, and the movie was SO BAD, I really think it hurt them in some small way lol
yeah man thats true(tho i reckon twilight princess, which is in the top 3 of all time is lame...i mean c'mon you transform into a wolf...boring man)but yeah it'd suck if they srewed it up!!!
it wasn't bad (ISN't bad...im still playing it...but being a wolf sucks...)yeah my general idea was a pretty vanilla movie: Starts on a random planet, when a squad of ultramarines checks for problems in a deserted power station. Then they find some broken machine parts of unknown material and a few minutes later an underground tomb(necron tomb, that is)nothing moves ....well, then theres a lot of from both sides, the run away, barely manage it do their rhino, drive off and...the next 90 mins. are about fightinb and with and a few epic battles against something like that...
Wow. That. Was. Very. Speratic lol. That movie would get way to confusing to someone watching it. Even a 40k player would be doing the " why are they here?!" deal. Its got to stay stream lined. I think SM and IG make sence. People can relate to IG, because DUH, they are humans. And the SM would be a draw because, a short 5 sec clip of a few SM just beating the piss out of whatever they are fighting in the movie, will make people say "WHOA! IM GOING TO SEE THAT!!!"
Hmm... part of me wants to say Orks, but the problem is, LOTR was WAY to friggin well made, and now people know what Orcs are lol. That MIGHT lead to a problem. Remember that people in general, are dumb, and need things spoon fed to them. Thats the reason why I watch a "scary" movie, and know exactly whats going to happen and how it ends, because they are all the same.
Necrons are pretty cool, on screen for sure. But again, Terminator comes to mind, and that can suck. Some people dont like Terminator, and wouldnt go to see the movie just cause. I dont want to say Tau, because they are more the good guys then anything. Eldar should be in there, doing their "we are better and know everything this is how we can help you puny mortals" deal. They look good.
So that leaves, DE, Chaos...... and thats it right? In all honesty, a movie about the heresy would be supreme, or some part of it. There was ALOT of epic awesome in that whole story

Don't watch the aforementioned movie in his signature - it's just the absolutely wonderful opening from Dawn of War soiled by generic, terrible music. Here's the version without lousy nu-metal over it:
There's been word back and forth on the topic. It was hinted at at a GD a while ago, if I recall correctly. Last I heard it would be Ultramarines vs. something or other in a straight to DVD release. It would probably be sold at GW stores and independent retailers. Then again, those are just the rumors; can't speak for how valid they are.
The movie that I think they need to make is Siege of the Emprah's Palace/Horus Heresy series. That would be so badass. Especially the Sanguinius vs. Angron type crap.
DoW 2's intro video was really great. It's exactly how the action sequences (slash WHOLE MOVIE) of a 40k film.
Either way, it would have to involve Spess Mureens, whether we like it or not.

does anyone remember the attempted film by i think it was exile films.
if you sent in a picture you could be a space marine. it died and no one ever said why!:(
they should make them about the pre-heresy to horus heresey. great crusades and what-not. later ones would be about the betrayal. that would be awesome.

lotr did that
Nothing wrong with a fad. Yes, you will get a lot of people who will join the hobby aspect and a large number will drop off but a fair few won't. New blood always makes a game more interesting. I wish people would look to the positive sometimes and not be quite so elitist over this hobby. The more people who start the more we end up with - how can that be a bad thing?
2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

I wouldn't even see it as a "lot" of people joining the hobby aspect,of perhaps every thousand people that see this "movie" one to two may develope some interest in the actual game, and of those, less then half would actualy delve deep into it,not that this is a bad thing...the hobby can always use new people.
That being said, the subject of a 40K movie was,IMO, dicussed to death in a previous thread, however I will once again toss the idea of a 3 part (minimum of 2 hours each) telling of the Horus Heresey as the most viable 40K film adaptation.
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

I think Pete Jackson did a fantastic job on LOTR. I still say the movie would HAVE to be CGI tho. Along the lines of FF7 advent children. Except better, I loved FF7 but that movie was just....... strange lol

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.
Have you guys read the Hades Hive piece in the COD book? That would be amazing. Liam Neeson as Yarrick, maybe? Of course, It would have to be preceded by a great crusade/heresy duo or trilogy. Music would be done by the composer of Chaos Theory, if any have heard of it. http://www.jimbonney.com/
