Deathskull Kustom Kombi weapon wielders make decent Lootas. I've a Deathskull Warboss subbing as a shoota boy too.
My Kommando with Lascannon works as a rokkit launcha sometimes (though usually he's edged out by the newer and better looking burna kommando.)

My squat biker/trikers will count-as marine bikers or scout bikers, as the mood and need takes me.

My Thudd Gun is a Thunderfire cannon, and the conversion beamer on my RT Dreadnought is a plasma cannon.

My 45 Necromunda Redemptionists/Chaos Renegades are now Lesser Daemons in my Word Bearers army. Covered in flames, they make great "recruits" to the Word of Chaos!

My 18 Cyber Mastiffs I used for Flesh Hounds in my World Eaters list are now robotic Rough Riders for my FW based Guard army.

My 4 old style Rhinos are now Wreck counters for my Legion of Brass Khorne army.

Ive lost two whole damn armies at this point that i spent hundreds of dollars and hours on (LATD and genestealer cult). Try to hang in there...

I use my goff rockers as nobs or mega nobs, depicting that they rock so hard that the sound waves around them warp and bend, repelling bullets and light alike, granting them a 2 up armor save.

Nothing I have has been made useless yet, but if I don't just up and quit over it (seriously, two armies? why the hell are you still buying GW's crap?) then I dunno, maybe very expensive paperweights?

I feel your pain. My brother also feels your pain. He quit 40K altogether when the current chaos dex hit and gutted his World eaters force. This was a guy that easily spent a hundred bucks every week to two weeks for years and had a massive collection 10K+ of chaos and was gearing up to make some major purchases for Apocalypse, etc. The current chaos codex sapped any love he had for the game right out of him....

My human bombs.

I still use them though (as my thrown ordinance charges). They run out and go boom!

My Zoat mercs for my eldar army. A vortex grenade in their hands was lethal (could throw them further than anyone else in the game).

That's about it.
I've never played chaos, so lost nothing when they took away various legion things.
I've never played tyranids of any stripe.

Only took core IG units, so novelty pieces being phased out never bothered me.

I used my mutants as conscripts, now I use them as penal legion. And I count my 13th company as chaos from time to time with the wulfen as berzerkers.

Wow Cheese..just.wow,I'm ..impressed.
Honestly,I also feel your (and CT GAMERs) pain,My Death Guard also felt the impact of the current chaos codex,so I now have piles of Nurglings&Plaugebearers rendered "generic" as well as a GUO wich I honestly loved.
Also,I have given up all hope on LATD in exchange for a "counts as" Traitor Guard army...Go GW,making the interesting and flavorful boring and bland.

Thing is, Daemon armies go against the fluff. Daemonic incursions are supposed to be extremely rare events, only occurring on a world with a massive Chaos presence in the form of cults or a Chaos Marine invasion. Separating Daemons from CSM was just an excuse for a cashgrab.

I was using Squats, Rapier Laser Destroyers, Zoats and Arbites as just that in 4th edition. I currently use Imperial Guardsmen as paper weights.

Use my Gaunt and Last Chancers as Inquisitor body guards, and the commissar with hand flamer and power ax as a Stormtrooper leader with a REALLY old plasma pistol.

Use Srg Naamaan as a scout sarg, or as Sarg Telion when going vanilla, use Ezekiel as a normal Chaplin, and my Deathwatch squad as a normal drop podding squad, or as sternguard in vanilla.

I use my termagants with strangleweb as fleshborers. I use my termagants with spike rifles as fleshborers. My bonesword tyranid warriors now have narrow swordlike scything claws.

In Apocalypse I use my Exocrine as a shooty Hierodule and my Haruspex as a fighty Hierodule.

That does rock hard.

My Cyborks from last edition are now Nobs with Cybork Bodies. Each has a chainsaw that "counts as" a Power Klaw. Each is mounted on a 40mm base. The old Cyborks were awesome - dirt cheap on points and T5. Ah, I miss having those at just 13 points a piece. But used as Nobs, they are still fun.

I pretty much built my ork army around the old Tinboyz models produced way back towards the middle/end of 1st edition. The Tinboyz represent ork nobz, the mek that built them is their Painboy.

I had also converted about 10 cyborks that had to be expanded upon to make a large cybork mob of 20 to fit the army theme. Even though they look cybork-ish, they are now just slugga boyz. Could use them as 'Eavy Armored boyz if I wanted, so that's a bonus.

My old Flash Gitz are now just shoota boyz with impressive shootas.
