Played my first 3000point battle!! non-apocalypse but absolutely awesome!!!

I won too which helps....I was winning 5 points to 4 and my avatar had one wound left...only his invunerable save stopped a draw!

Yeah. It was so awesome when that guy did that thing to that other guy, and then that tank was like BOOM and then that other guy was shooting at that squad. Then the other guy did this thing I totally wasn't expecting, and next thing I knew he had the objective. I moved forward to counter the thing, and then yeah, and it did. So it was great. I followed up from there and then it also happened again still. Yeah!

I think Lynx needs to be taken aside and explained to exactly what a battle report IS.

I think the battle report forum could provide such an education..

Allow me. Lynx a battle report is a turn by turn account of the battle. This report should also include your army list and if you can remember, your opponents. The report can also contain any pictures you took ok. What you have typed is well..... Not worth the post you got.

Yeah i know, but i was just starting it then had to leave for town so had to finish real quick...i'll update later if you want...

Well that would be good just add in what you can remember and people will respect you for it.

It was me and space marines(not very many, just a razorback, 5 assault marines, 10 marines and a wolf guard battle leader) against eldar and tau

HQ:
Autarch with banshee mask, reaper launcher, power weapon and swooping hawk wings
Avatar
Farseer with spirit stones, doom and mind war
2xdestructorlocks


Elites:
6xscorpions- exarch with biting blade and the shadowstrike power.
10xwraithguard- upgraded with a spiritseer
6xbanshees- exarch with mirror swords and war shout power
6xharlequins- troupe master, two fusion pistols, two harlequin kisses
wave serpent- dedicated to banshees

Troops-
7xdire avengers- exarch (shimmershield and power weapon) bs
8xdire avengers- exarch (shimmershield and power weapon) bs
10xguardians- star cannon support platform

The battle:
It was Annihilation in a spearhead formation. I deployed last yet managed to steal the initiative...my scorpions deployed over with the space marine lines to bolster a thin area.
1st game turn:
My turn:
Move: My main objective was to charge my wraithlord and avatar up the board as fast as possible as they were my hard hitting power...
I needed them to reach the eldar farseer without scoring any wounds. I deployed them just behind my guardian squad to provide a weak meat shield. I also deployed my banshee's in the serpent. My basic overall plan was to get as close as possible with everything, as fast as possible.

Shoot:
I was really happy here cause my reapers demolished his crisis commander and all his drones in the first round of shooting. Also my wraithlord used his launcher to kill 4 of his reapers and pin the last one which my guardian star cannon finished off.

Assault:
No assaults in range.


2nd player turn: Tau:
Move:
The tau player used his heavier firepower (the hammerhead) to great annoyance this turn. He moved it so he had clear los to my reapers. He advanced his kroot through cover and placed his pathfinders in a building.

Shoot:
The hammerhead, shot at my reapers, taking out all but two while the kroot and pathfinders shot at the marines which suffered heavily taking five wounds.

Assault:
N/A

3rd Player turn: Space Marines:
Move: The space marines moved up towards the pathfinders and the assault marines made for the kroot. His razor back moved into the open and could draw los to the devilfish.

Shoot:
The remaining marines shot at the pathfinders causing them to fall back. the razorback hit the devilfish causing it to be immobilized.

Assault:
The marines, accompanied by the leader, charged the kroot with a total of 21attacks and taking 11 wounds...Bam! the commander alone took 5. The kroot fell back but were caught in a sweeping advance and destroyed.

Player turn 4: Eldar: (things get bad)
Move:
The eldar player moves just about everything in towards my lines...it was frightening to watch.

Shoot:
The wraith lord, guardians, fire prism, avengers(just disembarked from serpent) and farseer (using eldritch storm) all lay down heavy fire on my squads. My harlequin's are completely destroyed, i lose three wraith guard, the rest of my reapers go and i lose two wounds on the wraith lord and 3 on my avatar!! really painful...

2nd game turn:
My turn:
Move:
Because the eldar player had moved all his models up close for an attack, i was able to get my wave serpent around behind and disembark the banshees. The wraithlord, avatar, wraith guard and the farseer with destructorlocks moved up and were all able to get within assaulting range.

Shoot:
I used the D-cannon and and got rid of two warlocks, the dire avengers used bladestorm on the squad of scorpions completely annihilating them.

Assault:
I charged the wraithlord with my wraithlord and my avatar. The assaulting bonus meant i got to attack first and managed to take 2 of his wounds. In turn though he destroyed my wraithlord :( *sigh...neither the avatar or the wraithlord fell back and remained in combat.

My wraith guard charged the farseer and the remaining warlock. The wraith guard took some really bad rolls and took four wounds...while the Farseer somehow survived taking only one and the warlock wasn't even scratched...my wraiths also fell back.

My farseer and warlocks charged forwards and engaged the dire avengers. The results were fun..taking 6 wounds but not finishing the squad off...the avengers ran and got away a full d6.


2nd player turn: Tau:
Move: utilizing his crisis suits he jumped them forward at the marines. He moved his hammerhead out towards the eldar vs eldar lines. He used deep strike and in came his stealth suits. they were at the far end of the board however and not a problem. With much of his army falling back he couldn't do much more.

Shoot: His fire warriors took their rapid fire shots at my assault marines killing all but the commander and a marine. his crisis suits lay down heavy fire and took one of his wounds and the last marine. His hammerhead shot at my one of my avenger squads in blast mode and took 5 wounds although they passed their morale check.

Assault: N/A

3rd player turn: Space Marines:
Move: The commander charged down his ethereal while the razorback tried to get into a position for an attack on the fire prism.

Shoot:N/A

Assault: The commander attacked the ethereal and smote him down. This was awesome as it made the fire warriors take a morale check and fall back.


4th Player turn: Eldar:
Move: His dire avengers continued to fall back. he moved his farseer and warlock away from the lines and behind cover.


Shoot:The dire avengers shot on the run and bumped off a warlock. while his fire prism managed to immobilize my wave serpent.

Assault: The only assault left was the avatar vs wraith lord...with a ws of 10 the wraith lord needed a 6+ to hit while the wraith lord's toughness of 8 meant the avatar needed a 6+ to wound. this was the last turn as we had run out of time so it was all down to this whether it was a draw or we won.

I failed to wound but he managed one hit that also wounded! only my invulnerable save kept the win for me!
