Hello everyone, I just started Warhammer 40K myself this weekend. Got into it by reading Dan Abnett's 40K books, then a mate introduced me to the game. 
Bought the Assault on Black Reach set today, have so far assembled and undercoated most of the Space Marines.
Off to my local Games Workshop tomorrow for the games night, gonna watch a few games assemble the rest of my models and try a pick up a as many pointers as I can.

Thanks for the avatar appreciation, mate. Yeah, I am a huge MMA fan and Mirko Cro Cop is one of my favourite fighters, so when I saw this Gif, I loved and used it as my avatar on all the forums I frequent.
Thanks guys, for the warm welcome. Just undercoated the rest of my stuff, and read through some of the excellent painting tips here on the site, thinking now about what chapter to go with for my first army.
