Hey folks!
This is my first real "tournament" involving more than a local store and 20-30 people, so I'm excited. Googling around hasn't done me much good, so if anyone was there....what did prizes look like last year in 'Ard Boyz at the finals? The year before that? I don't know how many years 'Ard Boyz has been going on, but I'm curious to know what "oodles of loot" means.

I remember reading something about last year's prize including a reaver titan and a bunch of other forgeworld stuff, but I don't remember where...

I believe someone who won 1st in one of the semi-final tournaments either last year or the year before asked for Sisters of Battle. They ended up getting a lot of stuff that no one uses (such as 9 Penitent engines), presumably because that's what GW has overstocked.

First off it's a free 2500pt army for winning a free tournament. There is no cause to complain about what you get regardless. And to be fair someone asked for a steel legion guard army and wound up with like $1k in Chimeras, Troops, and other tanks.
The first year guy got an entire 3000pt Red Scorpion Army w/all the forgeworld stuff needed to complete it. On top of a bunch of other stuff. Winning the Ard Boyz nets you some pretty nice stuff. If you can afford to fly out to the finals location and have the luck of the draw necessary to win the tournament.

Flagg, got a link?
And getting 2500 points of an army opposed to a 2500 point army would defininitely not be cool. I can imagine winning, then ordering dark eldar and a box showing up at my front door that I eagerly open to find a note inside....
"Dear sir or madam:
Congratulations on winning semi-finals for 'Ard Boyz! We've included 2,500 points worth of Dark Eldar within this box."

It's a legal army Dash. Normally kitted out it comes out to closer to 2800 from what people were putting up last year. They basically throw a ton of stuff that's base cost is around 2500 but in reality it winds up being bigger.

But you don't get to pick what comes in it?
I was thinking that if I managed to win semi-finals, I'd finally get Asdrubael Vect....

No you don't get to pick unless they change things this year. You can however try and be very, very specific with the type of army and hope they send more of what your looking for.
Ex.-Drop Pod Space Marine Army or Raider Mounted Dark Eldar Army.
It might not help but who knows, maybe it would.
and you probably would get Vect. I'm sure they have a ridiculous stock of him so I wouldn't be surprised if they did send it to you

So I saw the semi-finals, and what people got....saw a lot of comments that people had to call GW because they got 1700 or 1800 points and had to call and get more stuff sent because their army list got fudged.
I can't find anything about the finals though and what people won.

I've heard that this year the winner gets to build a 2500 pt list then they build and paint it for you.

Ummm you can use your $60 win from the first round to get Asdrubael Vect. It's actually the right price!
The 2500 point army is whatever GW wants to send you to make a LEGAL army at 2500 points. One of the guys I knew who won the regional go omething like 5 wave serpants and 9 warwalkers for Eldar plus some other models.

I was not able to get Asdrubael Vect for round 1, although I tried.
Asdrubael Vect (and most metal models now) are supplied through direct sale instead of trade sale, and direct sale items were not acquirable for prize support. AKA, no Asdrubael Vect. I was annoyed.

Bang for your buck I would ask for Greyknights.
2500 points of metal models is a hefty sum.
