It was a couple of years ago, but I seem to remember it was a lot easier if you pair up the torsos/arms correctly (though I'm talking about the sniper scouts)

No, the regular bolter/shottie/BP&ccw scouts are the same.
They have paired arms, and only the right pairs work together without extra work.
All of my scouts are metal. Never had the problem.

Never had any issues with them, with the exception of trying to pair the appropriate sniper cloak with certain legs. I've assembled an entire battle company of space marines and I'm working now on a scout company. So far the scout company goes together a lot faster and not nearly as many damn pieces.

It helps if you remove the odd little wedge on the arm join. It gives you more flexibility in posing the arms.

Yeah, I did that, because I couldn't seem to get them to line up with it in there, but now the arms are all kinds of fethed up. Ah well, thanks guys.

Agree. I didn't shave off those wedges and only after I was about done putting arms on the squad did I notice that some didn't look quite right. Probably explains why the bolters didn't want to fit properly in the hands. Ran out of patience and before the glue fully dried decided to make that squad CQB, lol. I have since learned the error in my ways.

You know they are all "Letter Coded" right? Look on the back of the sprue, and they have A, B, C, D, E, and F showing you which piece goes with which.

Truth be told I never paid much attention to them. I guess I should have.

Yeah, I cut all those arms and bits from the frames they came on to save space in my bitz storage, but fortunately remembered to write the letters on each arm with a fine point marker.
So I feel your pain, but having done as I did, they came together great, and I´ve since gone through two sets of them, mostly as conversion fodder. Love the kit.
