the thunderfire cannon fires Heavy 4, blast (generalization)
how does placing the templates work for multiple blast weapons?

do they have to touch? can they stack? can they not stack?

It works exactly like heavy 2 blast in this thread, just uses 2 more blasts.

you can place it anywhere as long as the center is over something from the same unit and the template isn't touching a friendly.
