Well ive built some pretty fun lists over the years but codex creep has realy cheezed up some stuff latley in some of the armies.

Such as demons , gaurd and orks.

How would somone beat armies like these with space marines out of curiosity in a 1850 point tournament?

On average i fought 190 orks in a 1850 point tourney

120 gaurd with lots of tanks to support and unlimited orders to boot. (and new tankage cheeze.)

Lets not forget demons like bloodletters who get powerwepons and invunerables for the same points as your standard marine.

So lets have it fellas how would you beat such armies ? im tired of having my marines die 2 to one to weaker troops.. no matter what i do.....

Ive got 7k points of marines to play with so lets see what others are doing to beat these hordes.

I suggest making some different lists and try playing some games.
Who knows? You might have some fun doing it.

buy some of th CoD buildings, leave them grey, then, get out some unpainted marines, deploy in building. If you keep your army very still you'll win, as those armies only see stuff that moves

60 point and an elite slot buys you a DH inquisitor, two mystics and a hierophant. Park those next to a plasmacannon dev squad, and anything that deep strikes within 4d6 of the inquisitor can be shot at by the dev squad. 4 plasma small blast templates has a way of making people reconsider close deployment.

Guard can be beaten by aggressive manuvering mech lists with melta guns.

That made me laugh. And honestly it MIGHT work once or twice.

I play Orks, and the person I play mostly plays SM. I can tell you, that Orks vs. Templates just spells bad for me. The weakness of Orks is most of them never get saves, EVER. Flamers/blast templates and also try to position yourself on the board where you can funnel our numbers down, or slow our advance. If you get Orks to bottle up, drop a damn pie plate on um.

Ork trukks are a joke, so shoot those things down, then the boyz inside have to hoof it. Slow Ork advance firstly, then while the boyz are slogging, take out the nastier faster stuff, BW and nob bikers and such. Ive noticed a few vindicators supporting each other just rip Orks apart. Hide them for as long as you can until you can spring your attack. 2 large blast templates on one squad, no matter HOW BIG will go bye bye in a hurry. 2 things will happen then. Either the Ork player will try to go a different route, or those tanks become targets. Thats when you spring an attack on those ORks with some assault troops or terminators.

Orks are really simple to fight against if you think clearly. We are a "gogogo get into assault" army. So use that against us and stage some suprise attacks. It might not work. But if you roll good enough you can really bring the slaughter to some boyz

Vs footslogging Orks:

Tank Shock then follow up immediately with templates/blasts

Attack 1 flank, so you can concentrate fire on 1 or 2 units while your opponent is still trying to bring the rest of his army to bear on you

Don't let them get the charge

Attack the rear of large units of Boyz using stuff like HF speeders, so as to (again) bring templatey doom on their heads AND force them to either ignore your speeders and get flamed again, or turn round instead of charging at the rest of your units

Ask FrankFugger

Because Deamons and Orks suck against Guard in his opinion and I am curious what he would do.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

Footslogging guard are fragile and seriously weaksauce. Get some droppod dreads with dual heavy flamers and wipe a whole platoons. Whirlwinds also ruin guards days, especially with the missile that ignores cover.

Table position is also important, minimize his tanks ability to shoot your units until you're in CC

If he's got 120 guys on foot he likely doesn't have more than 12 meltaguns. Get some LRCs in there with assault termies and storm shields. Multicharge units and focus attacks so you can break one and stay locked with the other through his turn, rinse wash repeat.

Follow up the drop pod dreads(with beacons) with vanguard's non scattering Deep strike and assault his face off. Honestly guard are terrible in CC close with and destroy them in the name of the emperor.
