Neither news nor rumors.

However, as an answer, they are a Daemon Engine of Nurgle for the upcoming Siege of Vraks Part 3 book.

I don't believe they're suicide bombs, but when you kill them they explode and I believe scatter.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

They are giant nurgle heavy support helicopter prawn monsters.

London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

from what i can make of it:

they have some form of bile like weapon (possibly template?)
chances are they will function as a vehicle (with an AV) due to thier size and the way they function.
and as said, once killed they will possibly scatter and explode.

these are just guesses though from what i can see on the model

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

Sorry i just need to get this off my chest,

BLIGHT DRONE HAVE NO RELATION TO TAU DRONES!

the only fething similarity is the word drone, blight drones are giant slug/prawns with guns and helicopter attachments and tau drones are little anti gravity robots.

I hear they are infected Tau drones. Or Chaos attempts at gun drones.

they arnt! look at the fething model!

its clearly a large flying (via two helicopter type attachments) daemon with some guns, its closer to a gunship than a drone!

They are in Siege of vraks 3 (Imperial Armour 7).

Go to the FW site and see the sample pages and contents of the book.

They haven't released "trial" rules for them (unlike the valdor tank, chaplain dread and reaver titan from pt6).

Actually, just now, hopped on and in the last few hours, they announced it :
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/QUATERMASTERS_STORE_IMPERIAL_ARMOUR_BOOKS_12.html

as well, taking directly from the info on the model:
A Daemon manifesting as a machine, these formidable daemon engines of the Plague God poison and corrupt the battlefield.

Pretty simplistic to me. It obviously has guns, and likely works like a jetbike, but probably has something special it can do towards the corruption of the earth it moves over or something (in rules rather than just wicked fluff)

Oldhead, still kicking
