I have been feeling ill, on and off for the last year with what I would describe as light symptons because they aren't bad enough to warrent time off work, mainly this has been constant headaches, stomach upsets, occasional migranes, a general feeling of tiredness and a lack of energy in my upper body (meaning it feels like I have ran several miles all the time when i lift things) And these tend to come and go throughout the day
It eventually got to the point where I had all those symptons hit me all at once and I was off work for 4days. I thought enough was enough and booked an appointment.
Reason I hadn't done this sooner is because I've always believed that it is being caused by a food allergy, so have spent the last year trying different sleep patterns, cutting out foods, reducing my consuption of junk foods to near non existant levels all to no sucess
So I arrive at the doctors thinking, ok, I'll have a good chat, tell him everything and even be honest about the huge amounts of junk I "used" to eat and drink and he'll run some tests and we'll find out whats going on. What do i get???
My blood pressure is taken, I'm asked three questions about my Alcohol consumption and told to try cutting out wheat from my diet. If I hadn't felt so completely exhusted I'd have thrown up a fuss, they don't even do simple allergy tests!!
Has anyone else had similar issues? I just feel like all these time wasters that go in claiming to be dying when all they have are common colds and are getting better healthcare than me, someone who has tried to sort things out myself first and NOT take up valuable GP times and I can't even get a damned simple allergy test.

If you want to take any kind of action, you can go through PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Services).
They may also be able to give you some general advice too.
Otherwise, I have no idea... I know my GF's GP is really good and always listens to what she says and tries his best for her.
I have no idea about my GP as I have not been for over 10 years, but I remember him being OK, though certainly in a "let's get through this as fast as possible" way.

Will give the PALS a look at, had no idea such a hting existed, lol thanks
Other than that I could always just walk into hospital and make a fuss. Last time I went there I was looked after far better than any GP office I've been too.
Health Care Perfection? where did you get that crazy notion from. lol

No problem.
You could try your local walk in centre, though I don't think that they will be particularly happy to deal with such a long term illness, as they are more for minor illnesses and injuries, such as:
- infection and rashes,
- fractures and lacerations,
- emergency contraception and advice,
- stomach upsets,
- cuts and bruises, or
- burns and strains.
Other than PALS, I would just suggest going back to your GP... perhaps write him a letter explaining what is up and see what happens. I think if you arm your GP with more information they will be more likley to be able to help you than just turning up for an appointment and having a short consultation.
