Just a note, was finishing off a bunch of grapes when I noticed the stems look like little trees, I'm thinking this presents a terrain modelling opportunity...

I am now looking at the tops of pineapples and pondering if drying them out and varnishing them to seal them might also be an option...

Welcome to the battlefield of consumed fruit leftovers. Don't mind the smell... Or the flies.

Go to a store that sells fake flowers and buy fake versions of the stuff. It isn't that expensive and it doesn't rot/attract insects. Fake grapes make cool "pods" on bases, jungle terrain ,etc. and that is where I got these fake artichokes that make good 'alien seed pods":

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

Yep, grape stems are a good way of making trees - with the bonus that if you let them dry out, they don't go brittle (apart from the very tips) and so are pretty durable.

Consider me corrected. Back on topic, I may try this grape stuff you speak of to make some Tyranidy terrain.

I've seen dried out peach, plum, nectarine stones and various unshelled nuts put to good use for alien looking plants/cactussessiiesssi.
