Okay, I am a big fan of librarians, and talking with my friends came up with a possible tactic, and wanted to get some thoughts on it.
Take a librarian in terminator armor (I take mine with a storm shield) and gate + power of your choice. Attach the Libby to a unit of 5 or 1o shooty terminators equipped as you like.
Take teleport homers in your tactical squads and rhinos, and locator beacons in any drop pods you have. (I believe this tactic would work better the more troops you have). The terminator squad and librarian can act like a quick response unit using gate to quickly get into range and shoot the enemy unit to death, then moving on and repeating the process. This tactic would become even more efffective if combined with chianfists and might of ancients to add armor hunting ability.
So what do you guys think?

I'm not really sure if there is a big benefit to bouncing termis around..
I think Sternguard would work better.

Difference is: termies can shoot "on the move" all their weapons...

Actually there is more difference from sternguard than you would think.
Terminators are relentless, and can fire autocannons or CMLs.
at 24 inches terminators have twice the shots as sternguard.
Terminators assault with POWER FISTS.
Terminators can use teleport homers, unlike sternguard who must have locator beacons which requires drop pods or scout bikers.
Finally terminators have a built in invulnerable save!

Assault cannon/Heavy flamer/Cyclone Missile Launcher.
I think Assault cannons would work best with this tactic. Two squads 5-10 with two Termie libbies (so 760-1080pts) and then add troops and a few dreds.
Using Gate of Infinity Is Not teleporting therefore Teleport homers will not work.
This is all,
Good tactic.

Also note that since Gate of Infinity uses the deepstrike rules it also means that they cannot assault after using it.

I thought since GoI uses deepstrike rules then you could use homers to keep them from scattering

I much prefer teleport homers, they are movable, and they aren't many points. The uses I have seen of a TH are amazing.

The only reasons i could see to wanting to teleport them is to get them away from assault or lay waste to a certain unit. If terminators can do that from 24" why bother teleporting? Just walk them around. There is always something around for terminators to shoot at.
Titan1987 wrote:at 24 inches terminators have twice the shots as sternguard.
If you use the same number of points they don't. 5 termis vs 10 sternguard. 8 or 10 storm bolters plus heavy choice vs 20 bolters with special ammo.. Termis can't take combi-weapons or meltaguns either. If you are specifically going after a certain unit, It makes more sense to use sternguard because they have the ability to take down big units with shooting.
Titan1987 wrote:Terminators assault with POWER FISTS.
If you are wanting to assault, then it just makes more sense to be running the terminators without the librarian. Part of the reason why you take gate is so you can ensure that the unit gating has the ability to jump out of combat.
Titan1987 wrote:Finally terminators have a built in invulnerable save!
The librarian can give them one and if you are being smart with the sternguard, you should be able to get cover from drop pods or other units.

Librarian with Null Zone with unit of Sternguard is amazing, they've got brilliant shooty stuff, and giving them gate as well would be ultimate!

I've been using this tactic for quite a while.
First off, the other posters are correct, Locator Beacons will work, Teleport homers not so much. TH only works on the initial turn IF they choose to enter by teleporting, which is a specifically referenced "type" of deepstriking.
I would say to with 1 or 2 chainfists, and 2 CMLs or ACs. I prefer the CMLs for transport hunting, and 4 krak missles is the preferred solution for things like Speeder Squadrons and Sentinels. 4 Frag missles can stack up an extra 10-20 hits on a horde unit.
I wouldn't drop too many points on chainfists, as you are still unable to assault on the Gating turn. 1-2 in a unit of 10 should be plenty.
My personal use of this so far is to Drop Pod a Dreadnought w/ MM / HF (so it's dual purpose... armor/infantry in cover) on the first turn, while walking towards it with the Librarian and termies shooting. Next turn, I have the option of teleporting to the Pod if targets look better from that position.
While I find the power better used for something like MoA or Avenger, you can always spend the points to get an Epistolary and give him Machine Curse as well, giving you one more guaranteed glance on a vehicle or squadron.

A good use is to place a Librarian w/ Vortex / Nullzone w/ Term Armour Stormshield in a Squad of Terminators w/ LC and TH and SS.
This way if needed you can ignore invulnerables or blow up that pesky Landraider/ Transport and assault theunit inside.
