Hey all, me and some friends o' mine played our first PS game today and I had a couple questions that perhaps someone can answer:

1. For the attackers drop zone, how do you determine what board edge it is? There is no set-in-stone rules in the book, and we didn't know which side they should come in on (obviously not inside the defenders area lol)

2. Force org. If above 2500 points (like Apocalypse) do you move to 2 force orgs? It was 2k eldar, 2k tau, and me with 4k tyranids, and we assumed it was like apoc. So they did individual force orgs and I did 2 force orgs. If thats wrong please correct me!

I didn't see a thread for this stuff, and planetstrike was a blast. we intend to play it more often (no one at our shop runs it).

1. The attacker can choose which board edge is his drop zone. If the defenders want one edge closed off, they either have to take the Drop Zone Denial strategem or just agree with the other players that one side is closed off.

2. Whichever you like really, you can even combine Apocalypse and Planetstrike for a massive invasion force if you want.

I was thinking you could only move to a second force organization after you've filled out the first. This being for normal 40k games and Planet Strike. This might be a rule I'm holding over from an older edition.

The way I saw multiple force orgs was that if you were above X point value (2500 typically) you can start filling a second org. Reason being, some forces (chaos, etc.) would have a difficult time filling fast attack with anything worthwhile.

And thanks for the rules on deployment! makes sense, I've never read the defensive strats so it makes perfect sense

You could also set up impassable terrain along a board edge as the defender which does not require opponent consent. Keep in mind however that any reserves you have come on from a random edge, and so you might be hampering your own reserves as well...

And any skimmer, jetbike or jump infantry, 'nid with flesh hooks, etc could just go over it.

But Planetstrike takes some sportmanship to keep things fun I say. Of course you could block of all 4 board edges and cover the rest in terrain to make deep striking impossible, but where's the fun in that?
