I just finished playing a nidzilla army with my space marines of the Black Watch chapter. They were around 1500 points and I don't remember the points on his, although I am sure it was close to 1500 also. Thanks to all of you on Dakka for your suggestions, as they came in quite handy. Sorry I don't have any pictures, my camera died, and I was too lazy to make any charts on the comp.
Black Watch:
HQ: Chaplain (Terminator Armor)
Elites:
Terminators (1 Assault Cannon)
Sternguard (Combi-melta) A note: I only used Hellfire rounds this entire match....
Dreadnought (Twin Linked Heavy Flamer,
SB)
Troops: 2 Tactical Squads (aka
TS) (both with 1 power fist, 1 flamer, and 1 multi-melta)
Heavy Support:
1 Whirlwind, 1 Predator Annihilator (aka
PA), 1 Devastator Squad (Lascannon,
PC,
HB,
ML)
Nidzilla:
HQ: Hive Tyrant, Broodlord (with 8
GS ret -aka
BL&co)
Elites: 1 Fex, 2
TW broods (3 apiece)
Troops:
1
HG, 1
TG
Heavy Support:
2 fexes and 1 zoanthrope
Fast Attack: 2 raveners
Deployment:
We rolled Seize Ground layout with Spearhead deployment, and Nids won the initiative roll and set up all of his units in a basic line, with his
CC fexes up front, his
TW on my right, and his Zoanthrope and
HT in the back, and the gaunts in the middle. He also held his
BL and retinue and two Raveners in reserve.
I deployed my whirlwind on my left in the back and my
PA on the right . My Chaplain led Terminators formed the crux of the battle line with my devastators and one Tactical Squad on the right and the Sternguards, Dreadnought and other Tacticals on my left.
Turn 1:
No appearance by the
BL or the Raveners. He moves entire army up six inches and takes a shot at my Chaplain and squad, scoring two hits with his dakka fex. He only rolls one wound, which I easily save. Takes a shot at one of my tactical squads with a barbed strangler on one of his
TW and hits and wounds three, but all are saved. He couldn't assault, and he couldn't shoot through his own troops so he was finished for this turn.
I moved both
TS towards objectives and responded with a barrage by my whirlwind, and I took 6/8 of his
HG. I also popped one of his
CC fexes with a salvo from my
PA and
Devs. I also dealt one wound to his Zoanthrope with my assualt cannon terminator. Lastly I delivered 1 wound each to one of his
TW broods with my Sternguards.
Turn 2:
He moves all units through the middle, not bothering with objectives, he now realized his army was in no way capable of playing a successful Seize Ground match, so he gambled on just annihilating my army. Also the
BL&co arrived 18" from the right side of my army, closest to one of my
TSs. He tried to
DS his raveners in the middle of my army....they both died as their tunnels collapsed in on them as they tried to burrow under the fexes

.Took 3 more shots with his dakka fex at my Chaplain-
TS, but any wounds he dealt were all saved. He did manage to wound one of my terminators with his Zoanthrope, which then failed its armor and invuln save, but its mind exploded under the pressure of the attack after the relentless barrage of my assault cannon.

He moved his
BL&co up closer and ended his turn.
I moved the tactical squad, broken up into two combat squads, to take the center and left objective. I also moved my tactical squad on the right closer to their objective. I then took a shot at his
BL&co with my whirlwind....but missed horribly. The tactical squad on my right took out two of his
GS after he assigned one wound to his
BL. My
Devs and
PA took out another
CC fex, and also 3/8
TG as well. My sternguards also dealt 4 wounds to his
HT but he saved one of them.
Turn 3:
He moves all gaunts in assault range of my
devs, and moves his
HT, dakka Fex and 1
TW brood up the middle right behind. He moves the other
TW brood towards my right flank and also moves his
BL&co within assault range. He assaults my
devs with his gaunts and manages to take one out but of the remaining 7 I take out 5. He then assaults one of my
TSs with his
BL&co....and it goes horribly for me. I lose the entire squad without even hitting back.
I run my dreadnought to the right side of my army and am still 8" away from the
BL&co. My termies open fire on his closest
TW brood and they are blasted into oblivion. Sternguards deal 4 wounds to his dakka fex, and my
PA reduces this bio-monstrosity to a charred pile of goo. My whirlwind fires at the last group of
TW, and deals one wound each. I can't assault and thus my turn is over.
Turn 4:
Nids, having lost all troops and heavy support now rely on their
HT, 1
TW brood, and the
BL&co. The
BL&co move up with assault range of my
devs and termies, moves his
HT and
TW brood also within assault range. The
HT fires 3 shots at one of my two CSs and deals three wounds, all saves failed. He also shoots his
TW barbed strangler at my sternguards and manages to kill two of them. Assault gets ugly again....he annihilates my
dev squad with his
BL&co, and takes out 2 more termies. I didn't lose all of them and the Chaplain thanks to invuln saving his rending his and his
BLs hit. I hit back and scored all six hits amazingly, and then dealt 5 wounds. Since they were all power weapons I took out four more
GSs and one wound on his
BL. He assaults my dread with his
TW brood. I take down two of them, but the last one manages a lucky hit and wrecks my dread. He somehow forgets to assault with his
HT and ends his turn.
I don't move anything and move straight to the shooting phase. My
PA takes down his last
TW, and my Sternguard squad pops his
HT, despite his one save. My Chaplain and two remaining terminators assault back, but he takes down 1 more termie before I hit him. the remaining four attacks I get are with a power weapon and the crozius. All four hit and wound, ignoring his armor saves, and down goes the last of the Nidzilla army.
Outcome:
Both a tactical and annihilation victory for the Black Watch.
Aftermath:
I learned one major lesson, KILL BROODLORD AND GENESTEALERS FIRST! They wreaked havoc on my troops and could have demolished me had I not scored so many good hits early in the match. I learned to love my
PA as a tank/
MC killer as he just took people down. I have also learned to love the Chaplain/Terminator combo as when he assaults he lets anyone in squad re-roll missed hits....amazing! I was lucky with so many good hits by the
WW, but will probably change to Vind after this. VIPs: Definitely a three way tie between the Chaplain/Termies, the
PA and the Sternguard. They were all instrumental and effective in reducing this Nidzilla monstrosity to nothing more than roadkill.
