Tried it once, and it was horrible.

Inks and washes are far too good to pass up anyway. I certainly don't mind paying $6 for Devlan Godsend Miracle Holy Grail Mud.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

You could experiment with getting the right consistency from the concentrate - but it would be way too much hassle, not be as effective and decent watercolours are pretty expensive too.

In theory... maybe.

Would have to be mixed relatively thick as far as pigments, then it would have to be clear-coated afterward to prevent it from washing off with the next layer of paint/ink/wash/etc. Even dry they are not waterproof.

I would probably use regular ink as a wash before using watercolors, I feel like watercolor is not the right medium for miniatures. It's great for going over micron pens though.

I'm actually doing a watercolour painting course at the moment. Haven't actually tried it on gaming miniatures, but from painting on paper I know the biggest problem will be watercolour's incredible fragility - it never sets permanently, and redissolves as soon as anything wet goes on top of it. I suspect most of the cool transparent effects possible with watercolour could be applied to miniatures better with our normal washes and inks.

Yes, we get reamed on prices here for no good reason.

For example, a pack of bloodletters has an MSRP of US$22 in the US and it is AU$35 here!

That means the retail price for a US$22 pack in Australia is US$29.45! (or a 33% increase).

An absolute joke.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
In pounds, the same product is £12 MSRP - compared to the equivelent cost of £17.78 for the Australian one! ie. a 48% price increase over the UK price....

Arrrggghhh!
