I think they should, being that that is one big change from the last codex to this one

They would be too close to assault squads then.
A tactical squads purpose is to lay down a good amount of fire.
An assault squads purpose is to tear people apart in combat.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

Yea but in the last codex, you had a bunch of people put them in a rhino, its stupid that you take that away, and in the last codex assult troops without jump packs was really close to tactical squads and they didnt take that away

I say no, because that is the ONLY advantage chaos marines have over regular marines, is their versatility and how every tac squad is an assault squad too.

They gave you pistols so now you don't have to choose between shooting or charging. Be thankful, and let chaos have SOMETHING better than you for once, christ.

Well, that and the improved Leadership, ability to take two special weapons per squad, Icons, the option to be 'Enhanced', and having better transports. Still, I agree with the sentiment that trying to turn Space Marines into Chaos Space Marines is stupid, and further misses the point about how different these armies really are.

I have no problem with it as an option (as it was in the prior codex).

I think its inferior to their current equipment though.

As much as i like the idia to give TAC's BP/CS, they are no longer TAC Squads. I play DA & SW, if you want an all assualt army just go with SW or BA or play lost of scouts

No. It would further dilute the differences between Marines and non-Codex Marines. You want HTH weapons in regular squads? Go Wolves or Templar.

And being able to vote for both Yes and No is kinda silly.

Don't think it should be standard, but maybe it could have been a Chapter Tactics option?

Also can you still take assault squads without jump packs? I know they don't count as scoring but would make the cc marine horde possible.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Definately no as a standard outfitting for tacticals, it would be the end of the bolter.

Tacticals could have bolt pistol and chainsword in return for having heavy weapons options restricted to a heavy flamer. Thats a fair tradeoff.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

No they shouldn't have the option. Tactical Squads have a job to do and it is not to be combat specialists. Just as JD21290 said. Leave it for the Assault Squad.
The marine codex is good in the way it is, no need to try to break it.

If you give them those, you have CSM. Then CSM will be regularised even further. I say Veto.
