Hey guys a quick couple of questions.

Lets say i want to take an inquisitor lord and retinue..some grey knight space marines ... grey knight termies...GK dread...and 2 land raiders

Could i then take witch hunter allies and add some sapherim (i cant spell it ) to add a fast attack choice and maybe some more cool units to add to those places GK falter in.

Would this be legal if not what can i take what cant i take.I do want to have DH as my perant list as i want mostly grey knights.

Do you have both the WH and DH codices? I'm pretty sure they make this relatively clear.

No i dont as of yet i just wanted this validated before i went out and baught the codexes and models....so any help guys.

we're not allowed to talk about info in the books (sorry its a pain i know)
so what i did is went to the hobby store and flipped through the codexes before buying whatever

We discuss rules all the time. I mean he's asking for less codex material than some of the GK SoB lists I've seen posted in the list forum..



The short answer is yes you can ally the two together....the long answer is in the codex

Pages 21 and 30 in the DH codex, pages 25 and 26 in the WH codex. Note that the WH book didn't exist when the DH book was written so only SoB are mentioned in the DH book - the SoB codex was replaced by the WH codex.

Naw, he can take a Canoness too, or no WH HQ at all. The only thing needed to unlok anything is where it says in the WH codex that you need an Inquisitor like for an Assassin. But he can already take those from his DH codex, anyway.

Functionally, as long as you take 1 HQ and 2 Troops from the main (parent) list, you may ally in 0-1 HQ, 0-1 Elite, 0-2 Troop, and 0-1 Fast from each DH and or WH (No allied Heavies).

The actual units that can be allied are listed in the CH and C:WH.

One cool thing about DH and WH units is that they can allied into each other's lists, or they can both be allied into Imperial Guard and Space Marine lists, either separately or together (i.e., both DH and WH units can be allied into IG and SM lists at the same time and with the same restrictions).

thanks guys ! this just means i can have some real fast attack as well as some cheaper troop choices..no heavies :( damn i was hopeing to take a tank or two just to help out the land raiders and dreadnought anti-tank wise...maybe ill take a HQ choice to whats the cannoness like ? does that include the living saint as a hg choice ?thanks again

i was thinking of converting grey knights with wings for the seraphrim (still cant spell it ) but from plastic with two bolt pistoles or maybe just normal grey knights with wings you never know....for sisters of battle should i use the standard models or convert some plastic bolter wielding grey knights ?

The Seraphim mini are actually pretty nice; however, if your goal is to field an all male/all plastic Seraphim squad, Space Marine Scouts with wings/grav-chutes would look about right and their box set does come with a lot of close combat weapons and pistols.

To be honest the more i look at the sisiters fo battle range the more i like it maybe i will field the normal models ... i just really like grey knights

for the squads how does a six man squad of PAGK with one justicar an incinerator and a phycannon sound the rest with normal set up. i will have 2 of these maybe 3 and they will be backed up with 2 squads of sisters of battle or counts as sisters of battle.That means i have 2 squads that are good but offer a cheaper unit that i can...throw at the enemy.

Small PAGK squads with mixed special weapons tend to do poorly. You want either a small-medium sized Psycannon squad or a medium-large sized Incinerator squad.

So how about i do that and have a small purgration squad ? as a pointsfiller while i wait to get thing like landraiders and so forth and im sure they can have advantages

Purgation squads are probably the biggest waste of points within the DH Codex, so never buy them. If you don't have the Land Raiders as of yet, then use Dreads, but don't use a Purgation squads, you sink so many points to ruin what Grey Knights can do. You want Incinerators or Psycannons, I say put 'em on your terminators, as they can hold them and keep their Nemesis Force Weapons. Rock on.

thanks guys! i found a sqyad of storm troopers that im going to press into service...flamer and grenede launcher,i know their no the best but there a squad and wit not much money a squads a god thing !..ok so ill cut the purge squad how about

6 PAGK with nemesis force weapon and storm bolter and incinerator and phycannon ? or a squad with 2 incinerators and another with 2 phycannons ?
