Hi, Ive been playing chaos and necron for over two years now and i havent heard of anything new coming out soon. They always bring stuff out for space marines, i wish they would spread out a little bit. Anyway, have any of you heard of or seen any new models or maybe a codex? Remember, if you know ANYTHING! post it here.

In short: Nothing.

To sum some mild things up:
GW likes the ideas on the 4 major Chaos powers getting their own codex each. No time lines- just a nice idea.

Necrons either next year, or the year after IIRC. It's also a big maybe as there's been nothing concrete about models or rules.

Chaos have had a lot of love, the CSM codex is only a couple of years old, the daemon codex a year or so, and all the nice FW chaos stuff recently too!

Its nice tht they might make a codex for each power. I will be interested in weather they make it a reality or not.

Say they make 4 Legions Codices (and it will be 4, not 8, because they'll ignore Iron Warriors, Word Bearers, Alpha Legion and Night Lords). Ok, so that's 4 Codices.

They can't release all four at once, so that's at least 4 Codex release cycles. Min 2 years to get them all out as GW's snails pace sees us get only 2 Codices a year.

But they can't release them one after the other otherwise that's two years of nothing but Chaos. So let's say that they stagger them and every other release is a Legions Codex. So now we're at 4 years to get all 4 Legions Codices.

But they can't go for four years without releasing normal Marine Codices - Marines are their bread and butter after all - so in those 4 years we have 8 release cycles, 4 of which are for the Legions, and then 2 of them have to be loyalist Marines.

That means that in 4 years we'll get 2 not-Marine Codices. Oh, and they'll start with World Eaters and end with Thousand Sons, so all the Thousand Sons players can expect to wait - assuming they started right now - a minimum of 5 years for their book.

And then another 6 before they get a revision.

So yeah, 'nice' is not the word I'd use.

Sad but true!

And, IF they are going to do it (and really, at this point, I'm not convinced we'll see rules for them before 6th edition), the only way they "should" is a combined codex for all the "Traitor" Legions.

I think H.B.M.C summed it up pretty well.
The only think he didnt take into account was 6th and maybe even 7th flying right in there somewhere, making the ones already published utter crap and or in dire need of an faq or other changes to make it fit again.

All in all, I doubt itll happen. I think one of these days they will simply redo the current csm codex and put in at least those 4 legions.

I lean toward a codex covering all 8 chapters. IMHO, this is the most likely scenario, IF this codex actually happens.

Until then, my Death Guard are in protest exile.

Aren't Death Guard somewhat OK under the newest Chaos Codex?
