So I was at Ikea with the family unit today and lookie what I espied--the most perfect bits locker ever conceived! Feast your eyes on the sublime "helmer." For about 25 quid I have a place for all my extra torsos, arms, etc. The first picture is a battlewagon sprue. Just look how snug it is! It's as if the "helmer" was purpose built for sprue storage! What do we have in the second picture? Look! It's two boxes of ironbreakers nestled side by side! There are six such drawers! Amazing!

Gentle reader, get your ass to ikea and get your bits in order!

You store stuff on the sprue?

I have racks and racks of various sized jam jars filled with right arms, left arms, heads, weapons, torsos, legs, wheels, vehicle parts etc etc. Lots less space than buggering about with stuff on the sprue. Less breakages too I reckon, than storing stacks of sprues.

Just to point out that Ikea is cheaply made gak. Their stuff looks nice though.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

Some of it is but a lot of it is perfectly good stuff, especially at the price they sell.

I prefer to store my bits in small plastic containers. That way i can leave them around the house and lose them.

I just put the sprue into the boxes that they come in, but for the smaller ones they go into the larger boxes. All of them are currently in an AoBR box, 4e Space Marines Battle Force box and the Tau stuff I got recently is in it's 5e Battle Force box.

Lunahound, why do you change your avatar every hour or so?

I think it's every time the hour is divisible by 3.

Every hour would be too predictable

It wouldn't be a problem if Lunahound wouldn't have changed from her/his better Avatar. It was so much better IMO.

On topic, I don't store my bitz in drawers but that DOES look like it's made in GW standard. It WOULD be handy if I would have any room in my room. It's already crowded with every little piece of **** you can think of.

My bitz box? A tackle box. Best investment I've ever made in this hobby. I've got at least fifty little compartments of varying sizes, and my tackle box wasn't even the biggest at the store I got it from.

I <3 my box.

You've never had it good unless you've done it on a rocking horse. By which i mean modeling.

LOL, QFT. My FLGS has a big bitz bin, and I can't help rummaging through the little baggies every time I'm there. You start rationalizing in your head why you need a dreadnought's foot and 6 night goblin torsos when it's in a little baggy for $2. Such a strange compulsion...

I couldn't fit even 10% of my bits collection in that cabinet!! I have a huge box just for my vehicle bits alone and a shelf dedicated to Guard bits. And then a corner of my room for pretty much everything else. I need a bits bunker.

Armies:
(CSM/HH) - Iron Warriors; Death Guard; World Eaters; Night Lords
IG - Vestfalian Expeditionary
Force (Solar Auxilia - HH)
SM - Blades of Inaros (Homebrew)
DE - Kabal of Ouroboros

My unbuilt Cities of Death stuff wouldn't even fit in there. It's a nifty cabinet... but it's tiny.

And size does matter.

You make it that far? I usually drop my bits on the thick shag carpeting first.
