In the digesting pools being turned into a nutrient-rich broth... (Buffalo, NY)

These are special characters from an Ork army I've been slowly modeling for years now. It started as an homage to Homestar Runner, but they have grown on me. So now I'm posting it here.
++++Begin Imperial Datafax++++
>Subject: Trod-Gore and Da Burninators
>Dramatis Personae: Trod-Gore, Buzzgit Red-Eye
>Primary Subject: Trod-Gore
Coming from inauspicious beginnings, the Orkoid known as Trod-Gore was born on Armageddon during the Third Waagh Ghazghkull. He was just another foot-slogger who battled his way up to leading a unit of 'Tankbustas' under the command of Waaghboss Borkrak Gutzhammer. In the battle for Grendel's Lock, Gutzhammer's Waagh was totally obliterated. Trod-Gore's unit had survived a direct hit from a Basilisk (although who fired the shot is debateable). Even reduced in strength, Trod-Gore pushed his lads onward. They came upon an Imperial Hellhound which had become bogged down. Trod-Gore lead an assault on an unprotected flank of the Machine, only to be caught in a trap. When the Hellhound had come off its track in a small gulley, the ingenious crew had sprayed promethium around their perimeter. As the Tankbustas charged, the savvy Guardsmen ignited the napalm, cooking Trod-Gore's unit.
At this point Trod-Gore died. His blasted and torched body was damaged to such a degree that it gave up its spores, but his implacable will prevailed. The deranged, burned mess of Ork must have dragged its own carcass out of the charnel pit and across 50 leagues of open, war-torn terrain to the bivouac of Waagh Gutzhamer's remains. Somehow the utterly destroyed Ork was able to locate and convince Gutzhammer's derelict Shaman, Buzzgit Red-Eye, to help him.
Buzzgit performed some sort of ritual, invoking the Orkish Gods; infusing Trod-Gore with vital Orky-Essence. The ruin of Ork, now empowered, lived again with a burning fury. Buzzgit commanded the Painboys and Meks remaining of Gutzhammer's army, who still feared him, to encase Trod-Gore in the twisted wreckage of Gutzhammer's own Mega-Armer, and various other machinery. Trod-gore is now, for all intensive purposes, a Deff-Dread Waaghboss; equipped with a huge Skorcha.
Trod-Gore: 140 points
WS: 5 BS:2 S:6 I:4 A:4 Ld:9 Front:12 Side:12 Rear:10

Wargear:
Mega-Skorcha, Stikbomb Chucka, Armer Plates, Grabbin' Klaw, Grot Riggers
Mega-Skorcha: This flame-gouting Skorcha was modelled after the Imperial Hellhound that torched Trod-Gore. So intense is its lethal jet that it causes its victims to cower.
S:6 AP:4 Assault:1, Twin-Linked, Causes Pinning

Special Rules:
Independant Character, Mob Rule, Waagh!, Da Ladz
Da Ladz: Trod-Gore has a special fondness for burning things. Any army lead by Trod-Gore may take a single unit of Burnas as a Troops Choice.

>Secondary Subject: Buzzgit Red-Eye
Buzzgit Red-Eye: 105 points
WS:5 BS:2 S:4 T:4 W:2 I:3 A:3 Ld:7 Sv:4+
Wargear:
Copper Staff, Flashy Bitz
Copper Staff: Buzzgit may choose to not apply any psychic power during his turn, instead suffusing his copper staff with coruscating green psy-plasma. He is treated as having a power weapon until his next turn.
Flashy Bitz: Buzzgit has adorned himself with all manner of shiny bits of metal, crystals and gruesome trophies. These are not only stylish, but functional, conferring a 4+ Armour Save (included in profile).

Special Rules:
Independant Character, Mob Rule, Furious Charge, Waagh!, Psyker, Warphead, Special Power: "Get Up Yer!"
Special Power: "Get Up Yer!" Instead of rolling to determine a pychic power, Buzzgit may nominate 1 Ork unit within 24", until Buzzgit's next turn the unit gets the Feel No Pain special rule.

>Conclusion: These individuals should be exterminated by Imperial Assassins or at the very least, their Waagh should be kept cordoned off to minimize risk to the Imperium.
>Thought for the day: Let Hatred be your Armour against the Xenos.
++++End Imperial Datafax++++

Note: This last character is just plain silly.
Gribbly Grubsnot
WS:3 BS:3 S:2 T:2 W:2 I:2 A:2 Ld:6 Sv:6+
Wargear:
Gubsnot's Boomstik, Armer
Grubsnot's Boomstik: Range:18" S:4 AP:6, Assault:1
Special Rules:
"Oops!", Must join a unit of Gretchin, Independent Character
"Ooops!": Gribbly didn't become the oldest Gretchin alive by letting Orks bully him about. His cunning has saved him for years. Whenever a unit or Grots that contains Gribbly fails a Leadership test, you may remove a Runtherder to make them pass automatically, this occurs instead of being devoured by Squighounds. When clearing a minefield, remove a Runtherder and D6 Grots (instead of 3D6 Grots) as "accidents happen all the time..."

I like the idea of a DeffDread Boss

95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!! 92% of teens have moved on to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your sig. 1500 pt ork

A special character walker with AV12?

Oh please.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

A take off of trogdor!?

I would give him front AV 13 to make him last a bit longer.
Maybe get rid of pinning and add "ignores cover" to his weapon?
Just too add a bit more burnination to him.

Add points up to about 150 - 160 and give him a rule like the ven dread.
You may re-roll any results on the glancing / pen. hits charts.
You may only use the re-roll once per result (like all re-rolls)

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

First off, the Grot character is astoundingly well done.

Secondly, I think that Trod-gore needs a DCCW, as he doesn't have one at this point.

They're pretty cool characters, but I agree that Trod-gore needs something to make him more survivable. As it is he's pretty targettable.

Thank you, thank you. Yeah grot characters (ie. Macharias, the old Ghaz standard bearer) are somehow too much fun. I need to finish the model and play-test him a bit, but I've gotta buy a car first... oh the agony of spending $$ on NOT Warhammer...

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

So, Trod-gore likes to burninate the countryside, eh?

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.
