Does anyone know if Games Workshop are going to release plastic (or newer metal models) of Stormtroopers or Ogryn? I only ask because like many of us, I seem to get screwed over when I purchase these expensive metal models.

When Imperial Guard came out GW said they were going to release every model in it in plastic. Now, when all the models will be released is a different story.

Sounds just like them snake in the grass GW staff, trying to make money off older metal minis before nice plastic ones come out.
Looks like my purchases will be limited to the advisors and a few paints, mabe a stenital.

As opposed to be screwed over when you purchase the expensive platic models? The divide between the metal and plastic price ranges is shrinking rapidly, and not in our favour. Just look at the Goldswords.
Ogryn were only recently redone, so don't expect that any time soon. We've seen plastic Storm Troopers, or what we assume are plastic Storm Troopers, but there's no sign of any release. Until then it's just Kasrikin and the older ones if you can find 'em.
And if you hate the price, try buying at placed that have year-round discounts or perhaps free world-wide shipping.

GW typically schedules a wave of releases to coincide with the Codex release, and a second wave approxiamtely a year later.
Look at SM Codex sent out last year. I got mine early with the Spearhead in Aug/Sept timeframe.
Wave two came out mid July; Ironclad Dread, and Land Speeder Storm.
So IG may be a bit yet, if this cycle holds. =][=

So IG may not even happen, we just don't know, if this cycle holds and GW doesn't change horses mid race again.

I try not to complain about prices too much, rediclious as they may be. What has seemed to be the trend among Games Workshop releases and my purchases is:
1) I buy a squad of ugly metal models, only for a fully customizable kit to come out a few months later *cough* IG command squad*cough*
2) I get metal 5 metal models for the price of a human kidney, only to have them outdated by a new edition of rules (like what 5th edition did to my Ultramarines list)
Either way, its bad. Nonetheless, I continue to roll the dice when its not deer season.

The second wave started with the Leman Russ Demolisher/Hellhound and is supposed to be spread over 12 months. This is rumoured to provide kids for all the options that currently have nothing at all, as well as all the special characters. We already know that the Catachan characters are on the way next.
Stormtroopers were originally rumoured to be in the third wave (ie after the 12 month second wave), so do not expect to see them soon.

12 month wave? I see then that GW have already abandoned their wave idea (release a bunch of stuff, wait six months, release a bunch of stuff, rinse, repeat) and changed horses mid-race again to an endless wave that lasts for a year. "Hey guys! I've got a great idea!" "What is it!?" "Let's split our releases into waves to stimulate sales across a longer period of time rather than concentrating them all at once." "Wha...? Huh?" "More money over the whole year." "Oh! Ok. Let's do that." *six months later* "I've got a great idea!" "What is it?" "Let's split our releases into waves to stimulate sales across a longer period of time rather than concentrating them all at once." "We're already doing that." "Oh, ok, well let's spread those releases out even further, so a single release takes a whole year." "Yay... I think." "And lets keep our customer base in the dark about what's coming up and try to hype new releases by specifically not telling people what's coming up!" "I'm getting hungry." "Well it is Tuesday." "Raise the prices day?" "No, that was last Tuesday. This Tuesday it's 'let's take another 3 hour lunch' day." "I like lunch!" Such a bunch'a morons they are... no business sense at all.

Looks like Im just gonna have to stick with tying up the loose ends that 5th edition created. Back to the mindless assembly and painting of shock troops.

I'm wondering if some of the vehicles or characters will be avail. I'm glad the devil dog and banewolf are out. Also the awsome punisher and executioner.
Now we just need a non FW version of the medusa, colossus, griffon, manticore, executioner, vanquisher, etc...

They are supposed to be coming... sometime. No one really has the faintest idea how long it will be before Games Workshop puts out models for those things.
The Executioner, however, is already available. It is in the new Demolisher box.

Logistically, it is probably cheaper to do one or two big releases per year (if not every other year) depending on the distribution model that GW has in place, rather than a steady stream of pushes. Less-than-glamorous things like the cost of stuff that doesn't sell to be sitting in a warehouse or the additional number/cost of shipping/distribution contracts probably play a large role in this.
