Hey all quick question here. I had to break off some arms to paint the fast attack symbols on my assualt marines. Thing is I noticed that if I swapped the arms one marine holding two bolt pistols and one holding two chain swords I get some pretty bitching poses. Now I do realize that these are not as per the rules. I knwo I cant fire with both the bolt pistols in one turn I would count them as normal assualt marines in every which way you could call it other then the poses and weapons. But I was wondering if you guys would let me feild these. If I had to I would put a knife on the b pistol one and a pistol case on the chain sword one. Would you guys allow these in game as normal marines?

Yes. As long as they have special wargear represented and it is clear what they are most people arn't going to care how you model the basic stuff.

Ah. well my bf put it that if a tfg comes by I might not be able to use the models. Would this be true. As well if it is id hate to have another 2 models lying around just for that purpose.

It is unlikely to happen: most people run with the rule of cool in these things: they aren't misleading so I would never have an issue.

Yes, a TFG could give you trouble. Don't play him. If its a tourny, check it with the organizer first. The chance of a TO being TFG is really slim.

Yes , if its obvious the over all weapon is well represented , and you have 2 odd count as models thats fine.
(Because honestly who will inspect every model's gear during game . That or just put the count as towards the back roll )

If that's the case he's easily dealt with. Just tell him to STFU, and mind his own business, you and your opponent are trying to enjoy a game between adults, the kiddie room is down the row at the daycare.

Oh im well aware of this and im more then willing fo telling any tfg to go take a walk. Im just wondering as per tourny rules as there is one coming up in nov im going to be participating in. Course that would be a wysiwyg kind of thing anyways so I guess asking you all wouldent really matter so very much.
Course well thing is if some one really really wants me to take them out I can simply snap off the arms and re-glue...
Went ahead and did it. Once i finish basing and glossing them over ill post pics up. planning on it anyways. Thanks for all your feed back peoples. Muchly appreciated.

Totally fine. If you want to be extra safe, put a pistol pouch on the 2 chainsword guys and a combat knife on the dual pistol guys. Instantly WYSIWYG- they have all their equipment modeled.

Because it is common courtesy to tell your opponent pre game any WYSIWYG issues. You act like a dick to me I'll retort threefold.

I see your sig count went up gwar. Didnt put mine in there did ya .
And well the one question I ask you gwar is why would it really matter if I told you about it or not? Just a question. As well it is quiet obviously an assualt squad. And you yourself would know that normally they would not be able to carry 2 cc weapons and 2 pistols to a model. They dont have any upgrades other then the p fist and storm shield on the one model but other then that nothing has being upgraded.
Just wondering.

Would you really even notice? I can't tell you how many times I've seen people model two bolters, or two bolt pistols, or dual chainswords on Space Marines just because they look cool, and I've never had anyone claim that they wanted two shots, or any other weird rules.
There is nothing wrong with it.
This is even less of an issue than people that don't model Extra Armor on their Rhinos.

ooh I know. Ive seen it a lot and ive never complained so long as they play them as there regular form or don't try to get that extra shot. i do disagree with the extra armor on the rhino part. its not that hard to model it on the tank.

It's not hard to model, but I think it's an aesthetic thing, especially with chimeras. The spaced armour looks silly to me and I really just don't fancy how it looks.
I would argue the Red Paint Job defense (does it actually have to be painted the colour red?) and say that the armour could just be stronger and as long as you pay for it and include it on your army list you'd be fine. You're probably safer telling your opponent about it pre-game but I don't think I would consider it violating WYSIWYG if you didn't. I don't think I would have a problem if an opponent did that, would you guys treat it as a violation?

WYSIWYG only applies to non-standard weaponry. If the person could discern what your models have by glancing through your codex, you have no requirement to tell them. Also, varying it up is always fun.
Extra Armour should technically be modelled.

it actually applies to all weapons... that being said. I wouldn't mind as long as you tell me what they are really armed with. Remember 2 pistols means they would have twinlinked pistols

No, it doesn't. They have 2 Pistols unless they have a special rule saying otherwise.

Personally, I would make the deduction:
I see assault marines
V
I see assault marines without special weapons
V
I check codex for standard assault marine equipment
