I've been working on a Forgeworld Chaos Warhound Titan for awhile and started with some painting.

I was pleased with how it turned out and thought I would share in the steps I took.

Primed with Auto Black

ArmyPainter Silver Spray base coat

I used GW Asurman Blue on the chaos star and P3's Blighted Gold on the outside trim.

For my first wash I used GW's Delvin Mud over the whole surface.

Just on the pitted area I used some of GW's Chestnut Ink.

For my second wash I used a watered down GW black wash on the whole surface and a thicker GW black in the pitted/damage areas.

After the water washs are dry I use Future Floor Wax over the whole model.

After the floor wax dries I move onto my Oil washes. First I use Windsor Oil Brunt Umber wash. I would advise having some paper towles handy
to soak up any extra, also this is an Oil wash so be sure to have an extra cup of thinner to keep your brush clean and to apply straight thinner
to areas on the model that the wash might pool to heavy.

After the oil brown wash dries I do a oil black wash. The black wash will make some of the brown wash mix in since it's not been sealed between
washes. I wanted this to happen as it gives it a mucky look, as if motor oil has mixed with mud and dirt.

After this wash dries I seal it with some dull coat to cut the shine of the floor wax and oil wash.

After this step I go back with some MIG Gun Metal run around the edges, a little
more blue and some flesh added to damage area. This step does not have a photo
available but I will be sure to edit my posting with one when I have it. I also added
some flesh color to the open damage/wounds.

I've also started on the other armor parts and will show some WIP's of them as well.

Agreed that the brighter colour scheme is refreshing to see. This makes it look far more like a loyalist machine that has been corrupted.

Excellent stuff, am looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks for the positive feedback, I was just going to show the painting but since it seems folks
enjoyed what I posted I guess I can catch the thread up.

Some background: The titan if from Legio Vulturum. I pulled the Legion from a list in the Adeptus Titanicus rule
book. The only information on the legion is they are silver in color and use black and white hazard strips.

This is perfect for me since I enjoy developing my models background as I paint. I've decided that my legion
has fallen in league with Tzeentch. I really like the ideas of a Legion steeped in the worship of technology
giving into the changing ways of magic and myth.

First up is the feet. For this project I decided to use GW's Battlescape as its base. This was based more
on the fact that I owned it and had nothing better to do with it. I still wanted something to secure
the base to, a base for the base. A family outing to Walmart turned out a perfect base with the use
of a bamboo cutting board.

Next up I used Gorilla Grip two part epoxy to secure the Battlescape to the wood and I let it set
over night.

Even after letting is set the sides kept pulling up as the Battlescape was warped. I ended up using
wood screws on the corners to ensure the Battlescape would not pull off later.

After having the base secure I had to pick my foot position. I wanted one foot up on the burned
out Rhino. The base did offer a challenge in foot position since I had to work with the fix-firm base.

After playing around with several locations and using poster-tack to get the right look I picked my
look and affixed the feet to the base. I used epoxy here as well, and to ensure the feet would
not shift during drying I screwed them into the base.

I had intended to leave the screws but had to pull them, I'll explain when I get to
the leg section.

With the feet in place and the glue dry I started positioning the toes. Having learned my
lesson from another Titan build I picked up some brass rod of different sizes to swap out
pistons if they went to long.

As you can see I has to swap out the piston on the middle toe.

While the toe's are drying I stared work on the hips and upper middle torso
by adding magnets. I do this not so much for the ability to pivot the model
but for ease of moving and storage.

Here I saw off the large round tab on the hips and score the top with a blade.

I then add a magnet using green stuff to build it back up and help hold
it in position.

and then add a magnet to the top with the same method.

I also add some glue on the edges to help hold it into place.

This is looking pretty interesting so far. Am keen to see how it pans out. Quick thought though, are you planing on making the rhino look a bit more crushed rather than burnt out?

Now, I can't see them from work.

I look forward to getting the chance to check them out from home at some point later this week.

Next update:

With all the glue dry I ended up removing the screws from the bottom of the titans feet, they interfered with
the dept and position of the legs. I also decided to pin the legs to the feet.

This will allow me to paint the legs and base apart and also remove the titan from the base for transport
